Today’s introduction of the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (Abolition) Bill 2013 into the Senate highlights the lack of long-term strategy for energy production and distribution in Australia by the Coalition Government, 100% Renewable, a community campaign for clean energy, says.

“Just last week, the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC), testified before a Senate inquiry and provided the data that shows its worth,” Sarah Hoque, Communications Manager for 100% Renewable, says.

The introduction of the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (Abolition) Bill  today by the Coalition Government is a surprise move that ignores the voices of the community, 100% Renewable, a community campaign for clean energy says.

“A few weeks ago, Prime Minister Abbott provided the carbon price repeal legislation with an opening for public comment. However, the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (Abolition) Bill was not part of this,” Lindsay Soutar, National Director of 100% Renewable says.

100% Renewable, a community campaign for clean energy, says that the Liberal’s budget costings released today will only lead to a dark and dirty energy future.
 
The Liberal party’s costings reveal that not only will the party demolish renewable energy programs like the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, as previously indicated, but they would also slash the “One Million Solar Roofs” program by half, or $500million over the life of the program.
