Climate Action Moreland

It's going to be too late, you have to think about the future, you acclimatise to the pollution but there is a better way; Everything is unnatural;
Need to take first steps, if it doesn't support renewables problem won't be solved
Resign and get people who know how to deal with the issue;
Think long term - food production should be prioritised and we are running out of fossil fuels
Get with the program and start promoting alternative transport e.g. trains for outer suburbs and start treating farmland as a national security issue;
The future of the planet is more important;
Start looking after the planet and start taking our future seriously;
I know its long term, but we must start now;
Wind farms are pretty!
Invest in public transport and cycling infrastructure;
We need strong leaders;
Public tenants want to be part of the solution and government is not doing enough for us;
There's a lot of people out there who are supportive so don’t underestimate the amount of political support that is there that is not loudly voiced;
You should clean the environment;
We are going to run out of fossil fuels-only for a few centuries and that’s it, so we need to live within our means.
Nuclear power is a tempting solution but is a temporary fix and too expensive;
Keep the coal in the ground, it is dinosaur shit;
Renewable energy is an important part of the long term solution and it is worth investing in;
Do everything you can;
Make it a priority, as it is a priority!
The investment in alternative forms of energy do something different;
You should use the word ‘carbon price’ rather than ‘carbon tax’;
A feasible plan for 100% renewable energy is on the table yet the industry goes begging while we give billions of dollars to polluting industries like coal-exporting climate change;
Strongly support;
The government should do something and not be spineless;
It’s good in the long term; if there's less pollution that is a good thing; We need to invest in renewables now.
We don’t need HRL new coal power plant;
More action instead of talking. Work together to resolve the problem rather than debating each other;
To move away from short term thinking to long term thinking;
Walk the talk. There is so much politicking about it - just get on and do it. We can see what is happening to the environment through climate variability. Not enough long term benefits;
The government isn't doing enough and its policy will mean the costs are far greater;
We are a society of over consumption. People are afraid of having less money and consuming less but we should think more about our impact on the planet;
People need more information on what’s available for them to help do their part;
We need to ensure that business does not leave-keep us competitive in the global economy;
It’s a much larger issue than renewable energy-its about getting people to change production and consumption-other species have the right to exist;
Start thinking about peak oil as well and start promoting amore local approach rather than globalization;
Get your shit together-its like Nero fiddling while Rome burns. I think we may have pushed it past the tipping point;
For any decision that is made in supporting the big polluters, consider the larger consequences on humans, plants and animals;
We should put a price tag on pollution but it needs a target for both individuals and business. My message is to listen and make sure you have very efficient communication - don’t work as though it is a horse with blinkers on. See the whole picture;
There are no jobs in a dead planet. If we don’t get a grip on things its going to be all over;
Don’t think of the short term think of the long term;
Look into renewable energy;
Basically stop mucking around with it and get on with it. They are talking about going in the right direction but they are not;
Don’t build new coal power station and support renewable energy;
People want change and now;
Act now, we need strong leaders to make a difference;
Its crazy not to be planning for climate change-we can’t just keep being reactive. All the debate has become about climate change and the accuracy of the science to our detriment;
Our need for renewable energy is inseparable from climate change but we are also making up for fossil fuels;
They need to start with local homes;
The end is far but near-realistically we've gone through 13 years of drought, now floods. In the country you can see the environmental devastation;
We need more community education because people don’t have an understanding of the state of things;
Do something that works e.g. MRET, and very much of a focus on energy reduction. So much to be gained from living more efficiently;
Victoria has the worst polluting power stations in the country and we need to get rid of them;
Do as much as you possibly can, as soon as you possibly can, bring the community along the journey;
Get some backbone. Stop chasing the dollar. Invest in the future;
Investigate alternatives;
Get your act together people!
A stand should be made now- the more we can do now the easier it will be;
Support alternate energy with a view to reducing fossil fuels;
Be more visionary;
Action needs to happen;
Should be doing more;
Fossil fuels are not sustainable. 100% renewables is possible;
Very important for the welfare of our nation;
Go for it
Tackle it properly
Keep electricity prices low as its getting very hard to live
Get your act together
Do the best you can. Not necessarily the cheapest, but the best for environment & everybody
Do it!
Don’t keep puffing wind all over the place, lets do it
If ratepayers have to adjust to fact that landfill is scarce, then big business should bite the bullet & pay the price.
Big business has a vested interest.
Government should give incentives to renewable energy. To new entrepreneurs who are willing to invest in renewable energy invest in renewable E as its the way of the future
Look to the future & just invest in what we should be doing
Try and do a good job for local people
My house has pv & water recycling we need to invest in these technologies
Support you in moving towards stronger renewable energy framework there is an opportunity at this time to make a statement.
Australia is lagging the rest of the world it should be a priority need to be strong not afraid to upset people not acting soon enough is utter folly
Support clean & renewable energy in order to save our planet
Provide opportunities at local level to make it more accessible more clear and protect from foreign ownership
Its not rocket science benefits outweigh costs just do it
Support increase in energy efficiency
There is a small country in Europe doing 100% renewable energy & we should follow them
Climate change is bad and we need to find a solution b/c this is a man made problem
Persist with the carbon tax and just because something is difficult and more expensive doesn’t mean its not worth investing in
Wake up and look around stick to the principles that you advocated in 2007 instead of capitulating to scaremongering by the fossil fuel industry.
People are sick and tired of the way they manage politics.
Leaders need to take leadership and make decisions
Leaders have access to all the information and need to act accordingly.
Put as much of your energies as possible into developing renewable energy.
Shift to solar is good. More initiatives would be good that are affordable for individuals.
Take it seriously.
More education about converting to renewable energy. Encourage bulk-buying schemes.
Focus on positive action.
Work together to get something through.
Politicians should follow through with action.
Politicians should be more serious about renewable energy.
Should do what's best for the country not what's best for industry.
The focus should be on the people of Australia not the business of Australia.
It’s time to invest in more research and making Australia a world leader.
Get on with it and stop bickering.
Prepare for a future where carbon is recognised as a pollutant.
There should be user pays for carbon pollution.
Parties need to do more and take issue seriously.
Government needs to increase subsidies for renewables e.g., solar.
Do the right thing and do 100% renewables
Stand up for carbon price and renewables
New tax system. Legislation to protect the working person.
Keep with the carbon tax.
Moving towards renewables is inevitable so we should be at the front of it.
There should be incentives to invest in clean energy. I’m surprised that anyone not supporting renewables ever gets any votes.
Start as soon as possible and stay away from nuclear energy.
Jane Garrett, please invest in renewables.
Just make some decisions and stop fluffing and the time is now.
If you look at how urgent the problem is and how to decarbonize into the future. Support carbon trading and history will prove you are right.
We need a deeper renewable energy target to 30% by 2025, alongside a carbon tax. We need complementary measures.
It really starts with local government and mustering politics from the base.
We're running out of time.
It’s a no-brainer really and we are running out of the non-renewables so it doesn’t make sense to keep going down the same path.
This should be the most important issue that he addresses.
Just get going.
Hurry up!
To have a definite plan for the future.
If we don’t do something to fix the problem we should all be ashamed, and the greatest responsibility to do something rests with those that have the greatest power, especially politicians
People who want to start a new initiative can’t make financial personal or business plans and follow the German feed-in-tariff. I fully support Kelvin Thompson on population and I'd like him to come to out.
Make it cheaper. No rip-offs like insulation
I’m in favour of clean energy, less pollution
Should be cheaper for everyone to access
More clean energy
Should be free to consumers
More research on geothermal and wave. More action on energy efficiency
Everything is determined by the hip pocket. Money decides everything.
Need to ask people who speak better English
Make more of an effort at every level of government., e.g., solar panels on houses
It is the way of the future. Not a carbon tax because the devil is in the detail.
Instead of putting a tax on everyone there should be regulation of big companies. They should listen to everyone. Each policy has positives and negatives
The initial outlay and trust in installers is an obstacle. There should be a rates discount for people who have solar - hot water and electricity.
Hurry up!
Take s stand and support renewables as a realistic option and make it realistic for business
People in Australia are supportive of recycling and ecological concerns so if they can do something in their home the will
Need to bite the bullet and move away from pollution
Need an education campaign
100% Renewables!!
Make it mandatory that all new homes have solar
Fund R&D into renewables. Not funding for the rich.
Take care of Australia to look after ourselves
It’s going to be too late, you have to think about the future.
Resign and get people who know how to handle the issue.
Think long term - food and running out of fossil food.
Subsidies to fossil fuel industries should be moved to renewable energy
Vote yes for a high price on carbon
Put his (Kelvin Thompson) energy where his mouth is
Australians want renewable energy; it is that simple!
If they believe we are having an impact in the climate, then it is negligent not to have 100% renewable energy
They’re not doing the most useful thing.
The Moreland Council is the most progressive and keep going
Support 100% renewable
Get on with it.
Be courageous! Australia as a world leader in renewables
Say Australia will not profit from its coal
You’re worried about it hitting us in the pocket, but the costs are going to hit everyone eventually
Start spending more money on renewable energy
Communicate the facts so that people know it is needed
Introduction tanks for water/garden
If everyone else can do it so should we
Definitely look at it particularly solar energy save our pollution
Get out and do it.
You know better, you know renewables is good. The only way to get big business to change their ways to get then to pay for it.
Switch off Hazelwood!
I support the carbon price but people need to be helped to find ways to minimise their energy e.g. solar run appliances, gets people, more closely bonded to the concept.
We can’t afford not to invest.
Consider the fate of the planet and the people still to come
More action sooner.
Should have a plan to shift everything over to renewables.
State level get pragmatic liberals and need heavy emitters and bring everyone to the table
It’s amazing what's going on in Germany, we should do it too.
Interest in wind and solar. Press ahead with the carbon tax.
It needs to be given more priority.
Listen to the public.
Waste is not really smart economics.
Stop being pansies, stand up.
Take notice of people who know what they’re talking about.

Long term planning required. Too short term.
Fighting internally and externally. This is the most urgent thing on your desk.
This is the future of the country’s economy, health and welfare,
Investigate and explore,
It makes sense,
Continue to make accurate and up to date information of relative costs and benefits,
Short-term focus, Energy is a long-term issue. Not achievable within their term. Look for the long term,
Implement policy that does what they know is the right thing for the future,
Cheaper and more solar panels,
Better forward planning and bipartisan support,
Do some research and come back with informed dialogue,
Properly audit big polluters.
Transfer money to help those worse off.
To be more efficient in energy use.
We should copy the UK but I don’t know much and I think we can’t do much, nature is too strong,
Provide better tax incentives for individuals/businesses to do more renewables,
What have you done for the community?
Support Renewables,

Stop thinking of the next election. Carbon tax is a positive thing. Think long term, i.e. 10-30 years.
Act Now!
Act NOW
Local government can have a big impact if we keep sending the message.
Keep putting a clear picture to the electorate
Keep informed
Try harder, don’t give up
Population policy, then renewable policy
Put it on your agenda

Improve sustainable transport, putting more into bike lanes and green public transport
Renewable energy has to be looked at. We need more info!
Think of the future. The planet can’t sustain ho we are using our resources.
Just do it!
Stop committing suicide on my behalf. I can’t begin to describe how insane it is.
Long-term vision is important. Right now, please consider this.
Need a renewable network. Need to act now - don’t put it off. Solar panels on every rooftop. We have the space. It will pay for itself.
Represent the interests of Australians, and not just industry. They aren't the same. Highest per capita user in the world, and we need to set an example to other nations. See ozone situation.
Get head out of the sand and have a good look about the issue.
Stand firm and think of future generations. Don’t be selfish, and think of us. Take some leadership.
Look at geothermal and tidal. Get the message across about renewables better. Needs to be more education about climate change and renewables to general public.
Show some leadership.
People will support you.
Don’t flip-flop
Invest
Need to do more for a sustainable future. Invest the carbon tax in the future.
Need geothermal energy, e.g. La Trobe valley.
Listen to people, not polluters
Keep eyes on long-term goals, and don’t worry about short-term effects. Be gutsy about it.
All people in government should be presenting truthful arguments and standing up for what they believe.
Australia is behind Europe and should be in line.
Get on with it. We fear a watered down package.
I’m not against carbon tax, but want detail. I’m currently confused, but want action for climate change.
Stay strong, but support a price on carbon
I support renewables, but I want the cost limited.
Your responsibility respect my wishes and act on renewables
Listen and think beyond the next election and do it for the kids
Think of the grandchildren
More integration between polluters and those that want alternatives
More bike & enviro friendly is good. We need to have a plan.
I need to find out more to be able to talk to politicians about it.
Go overseas. See it working. Shouldn’t be elitist.
Looking at it at a global level, yes we need stuff done but support local manufacturing.
Come up with something concrete.
Need leadership working harder
Gotta start somewhere!
Get on with it, and build baseload solar.
Man up and do it.

Stick to your guns
Get going!
The ones who can afford it should pay. Listen to us or you'll be voted out
Sick of talk, sick of debate. Firm strong action.
Invest in renewable sources. Legislate targets & enforce it.
Legislate every new house to have solar panels
Why don’t we have nuclear energy?
Why wont the government cap carbon emissions
All of the above
Expensive, unreliable
Lifestyle a problem
Do something about it now while you have the chance. You won't in the future
But more options [than just a carbon price] should be put in place. Such as smarter green cars. This all takes too long
Be good to your mother
Put our money where our mouth is and educate people.
I want action, just do it. Don’t be poll-driven
Do everything we can to build renewable energy infrastructure

Create more jobs, don’t agree with carbon tax;
Need to see community thinks it’s important;
Move a lot quicker than they are;
Fling Gillard and cronies, focus more on alternative energies regardless of coal lobby;
Just do it; time to pull the finger out, get on with it;
Speed it up a little bit;
Keep solar city going; make renewable energy more accessible;
Commit to wind in Victoria, look at 2km radius; be strong - stick to your principles;

Listen to your voters and
Not your own agenda; keep prices at a minimum;
Big companies should supply their own energy; prepare for the future or there might not be one;
This issue needs to be addressed by government;
Always try to think laterally for a solution; act now and avoid disappointment later!
People are more ready to deal with climate change than they (the government) realise, be brave, just do it!
Forget coal; promote incentives like community garden projects that help individuals to lessen their carbon footprint; people have been pushing for alternative energy and water solutions for over 40 years and it’s about time they listened, and please think globally but act locally;
While I support renewable energy, I do not support the placement of wind turbine farms in populated regions; wind power not the answer, just another form of pollution (visual), solar is the obvious answer and
Each house producing all its power needs, also industry to produce electrical appliances that consumes less voltage and 150, 125, even 32 volts; impose change at a higher level other than individuals just trying to do it on their own.

Put your money where your mouth is. Give people incentives, people want to do the right thing;
Totally disillusioned by the party I supported;
Support solar energy by making it affordable for everybody;
There will be more jobs in renewable energy. Typewriter mechanics found jobs, so will the coal industry;
 Need a better system than we have now. Stop spending money on rubbish, spend it on proper things
In Europe, Germany in particular, most homes have solar, why can't that happen here?
Renewable energy is important, but can't replace coal because you won't get base load;
Support renewable energy;
Base load power has been demonstrated in Europe & USA. Advance the capacity to harness solar for base load;
Begin making the steps toward new energy;
Currently what we are doing is unsustainable. Deadly consequences. Economic boost by switching to sustainability. Traditional methods outdated;
Definitely time for a transition to renewable;
We need to change. Important for future generations;
Make solar more accessible to the masses;
We could be leading the world. Get serious;
Promises were made that have not been kept. Australia is lagging behind and we don’t have time;

If we want a future for our species on this planet we have to take drastic action now. How do we overcome vested interests, greed, politics so something can be done before it’s too late
Rethink your change of mind on renewable energy;
It’s no secret what is really working in other countries. Please take head out of sand and push renewable. Loggers etc. have to find new jobs as would fossil fuel jobs;
Get us off oil & coal;
I am voting on climate change;
Stay on message. We want an ETS in 2010 not in years time when it’s too late;
More incentive for home owners to embrace solar power i.e. return to PV subsidies;
We need to move forward with this;
Please act on renewable energy solutions;
Show some spine;
Promote PV and make them affordable to everyone;
Don’t do back flips on your promises. Don’t just tax the consumer, think about taxing the large companies who pollute & don’t wish to change their methods of power use and cut down their own emissions
Why are we missing the chance to do the right thing NOW when it counts? We all will benefit from the change
We want renewable energy. To not pursue it is a disgrace. K Rudd's promises proved very empty. Unfortunately the opposition also shows little initiative;
Send a research team to Europe. Tax deductions to put renewable power in the home;
Do something and soon;
Current Government should take a leaf out of local Greens member who supports 35% renewable by 2020, not 5% renewable by 2030;
Don’t wait with excuses that we need other countries to act first. Get Australia out in front and be a leader;
Get real and we cannot afford to wait until 2013 before taking real action;
Investment in renewable energy is a priority for all world governments;
We should concentrate on serious renewable alternatives e.g. solar and more house to house solutions;
Show some leadership in taking Australia into a world leader for renewable technology;
The public has limited patience and
We do understand the issues and we want them to act;
Please, please think of our countries future for our children's sake as well as our economy;
Set with it time to move forward;
We need to take action before it’s too late
Return solar rebates to householders;
Return rebates with less paperwork and hassle;
To support local community initiatives and more solar rebates;
Strong commitment and leadership at a federal level for strong community sustainability and energy, water and community sustainability.
Get on with it!
Do the best they can.
Invest in wave power.
Go back to the people.
Renewable energy is good.
No back flipping.
More wind.
Don’t extend Morwell.
More action!
Invest in renewable!
Too much talk, not enough action.
It need’s to happen.
Don’t make it hard for the individual.
Support renewable energy.

Bendigo Sustainability Group

Need to do more.
Need to think beyond fossil fuels and be brave enough to invest in renewable energy.
Get out and talk to people.
ACT NOW! Before it is too late.
Stop stuffing around.
Please just start the change.
Stop arguing and get on with it.
Pull your finger out and do something about it.
Make it cheaper & create more jobs to allow residents to have more impact on the environment.
If it makes economic sense then do something about it.
Stop sitting on fence and do something.
More needs to be happening to invest in long-term sustainable future.
Need to get started.
Here is an opportunity mot to be missed for long-term future of Australia.
Invest now - think of our children.
Spend more on education to see advantages
Many sides to be weighed up. Long-term view is required. Consultation and informal decision.
Do what is right.
Do it properly.
Solar energy system - keep.
Get on with implementing renewable systems.
Renewable is good but it must be affordable.
Get politics out of it.
Take a longer-term view and get policies that are going reduce pollution not just an new form of business.
Listen to people involved in trying to promote renewable energy.
Keep plugging on for clean energy.
Very important to take care of environment - more action.
Do it - do what is best for the country.
Get on with it.
More action.
Get over the politics and get on with it.
Anything that prevents harm to the environment and can be done should be done.
Keep the rebates and police it heavily. Create good rebates on decent sized systems.
The ideas are good but it needs a lot more research and time into practical solutions.
Continue the current programs and expand on them.
Get on with it.
Be very careful. Move in the interests of everybody.
Government looks more broadly at alternatives.
Do it for the next generation.
Seriously use nothing but renewable energy. The country must get serious and NOT EXPORT polluting energy.
Push more for clean energy.
The Government needs to start acting now.
We want renewable clean energy and jobs. It’s pretty easy.
Focus on businesses. Just make it happen. The debate is too backward looking. Let’s look at what’s possible. Need a managed transition.
Get behind it mate!
Reduce subsidies to dirty energy.
If it is made simpler, more people would be renewable.
Public transport improvement. Discourage private ownership of cars.
Don’t respond to childishness.
The Stone Age didn’t stop because we ran out of STONE.
People need to be educated. Ignorance causes apathy.
Good Luck!
It seems it would be quite smart to invest in renewable energy.
I am fully in favour of solar energy.
The best decisions for the community aren’t always the most popular so stand up and take the lead and show the community what can be done.
Get over the greed. Get on with doing what’s right to make the planet sustainable.
Increase the cost of fossil fuels to counter-balance the research into and production of renewable forms of energy.
Look after our children’s needs to there can be adequate living conditions for future generations.
Don’t think of your children - think of your grandchildren.
Think of the future.
We have to start acting now.
More work, less money for politicians.
Do more about it.
Should be less reliance on fossil based fuels.
Renewable energy is there to use - get in there and use it!
Should be educating public about true costs of renewable energy.
Get your act together
Get real.
Hurry up and make a decision, if you are going to implement it.
It’s a good idea, save the ozone layer - more chemicals are coming.
Take it more seriously
Should be up there on the list of priorities, can’t take chances with global danger
It’s a bigger issue than most people realise - so more people need to learn about it i.e. education.
Pull their finger out because they have known about climate change for years. It’s an issue for the welfare of our future.
Look to Germany for mature inspiration.
Join the 21st century - the industrial revolution was a long time ago. Let’s have a new one.
Be financially responsible. We can’t have 100% renewable energy. There isn’t the technology to allow this. No leadership and all as bad as each other.
Reinstate the policies re solar power incentives.
Reinstate the solar rebates scheme.
Reinstate the original policies i.e. Green Loans - renewable solar incentives.
There’s confusing coverage in the media regarding a carbon price
Look at rewarding businesses that use clean energy and charge those who don’t.
Fryerstown residents like-minded (in favour of solar power). Many have solar.
Check out all info first before making decision, especially financial.
Make it a priority.
Encourage adopting renewable energy.
Should continue with solar rebates
Should do more with our oceans for power and fresh water.
Keep up the good work, Jacinta (Allan)
You are all inept and incompetent.
More incentives for use of solar and make it transparent.
We need to deal with environmental issues as a high priority.
Invest now for future generations
Invest in clean energy for our future generations.
Get on with it, more action - less hot air.
Should be in forward planning annually.
Keep working on renewable energy.
Renewable energy should be promoted more and, if possible, subsidised so people keen to use it do not have to pay a significant premium to do so.
Get some more solar panels up and plant more trees.
Allow individuals, farmers, hobbyists to develop plants/areas for wind, solar, renewable energy enterprise on a small scale.
Keep trying.
Too much talking, not enough doing.
We need to be doing more with solar and wave energy.
Rebates! Rebates! Rebates!
To help look after the environment and stop destroying Mother Earth; to stop using the earth and fossil fuels and use sustainable and renewable options.
It doesn’t have to be a sudden change (all or nothing) but some conversion to sustainable living is essential e.g., yearly targets.
The future is renewable energy. Without it, there isn’t one.
Is the cost of doing nothing actually greater than the cost of doing something?
Concentrate of environmental sustainability, clean energy.
Moving forward includes moving towards a sustainable way of living.
Act now, and then fine tune - not debate until it is too late.
Deal with the CFMEU. Don’t give us more coal stations. Stop logging native forests.
Don’t wait until it is too late.
Move money for renewables.
Bring back rebatable solar power for homes.
Time to do it!
More solar power, please.
Increase targets to 50% renewable energy by 2020 and it will be the biggest economic stimulus in Australia’s history.
Think outside the usual energy box. Look at alternatives seriously.
Solar power is the way forward.
Emphasise the issues of environmental sustainability and their importance.
We have a moral and ethical obligation to our environment, our planet, our future generations to do everything within our power to prioritise renewable energies.
Think about Australia not about short-term monetary gain.
Spend the tax money on ground floor RESEARCH not spin advertising. Speak to people on the land in OZ not overseas junkets.
Bring back the ETS debate. More subsidies to people going solar - bring back the $1600 subsidy.
You’re sacked!
Progressively close down brown coal power stations.
Where to start?
It is time to stop our traditional polluting practices and embrace renewables.
Just do it!
Do it now!
Get properly qualified people in programs like the insulation program. More education regarding benefits of solar energy.
Fight hard against Liberal opposition, especially Tony Abbott - the Flat Earth Man.
Do it now - stop delaying - we are ready.
It needs to be pushed even more, and more incentives are needed to make it appealing to the public.
To Julia Gillard - Renewable energy needs to be the primary focus of government policy.
What legacy are you leaving my children and grandchildren? Leave this world a better place!
Dirty power generated should be evaluated on its true costs, including greenhouse gases produced and water used. Coal fired generators use a lot of water, which is not costed.
Please develop a plan to move Australia to 100% renewable energy in the next 10 years.
Develop a strong plan for 100% renewable energy within 10 years.
You don’t need to know rocket science to realise we need to do something about our renewable energy and water needs for this country.
Make our renewables move available for our everyday person, like solar hot water, wind turbines for rural farmers who have the space to use this product.
Housing needs to be built to strict principles of renewable energy.
In Victoria, new houses have to have recycled or tank water used in the toilets, which usually requires a pump to start operating each time the toilet, is flushed. This law needs to be looked at because it is a waste of electricity.
Time to take positive action on renewable energy. Offer incentives to community householders.
The Government needs to support renewable energy more.
Research renewable energy options and offer incentives NOW.
The Government should be doing more to develop non fossil fuels. We need more Transparency about how taxpayer’s money is spent.
We have to invest in renewable energy because oil is finite. Why are we selling gas overseas? Oil is finite and we will need gas when oil runs out - as stopgaps until we get 100% renewables.
With the sun, wind and wave power available in Australia we should be leading the world in the renewable energy field.
The government is doing some things, but I would like to see it doing more.
I support investment in renewable energy and see it as an essential priority for Australia. Be confident that the community supports this.
Get out of coal mining. Tax on carbon NOW. Go green much faster. Climate change - action now!
The Government should support the development and production of renewable energy.
Do better.
We need more wind power - placed in suitable areas etc.
Wake up before it is too late.
Do something and soon!
We need to invest in renewable energy considering now and in the future.
Renewable energy should be made a priority.
Keep moving forward.
Let’s make the transition from a carbon economy to a renewable economy ASAP!
Consider the future generations - beyond the election cycles.
We need to change but the government has to take the lead because big business won’t do anything unless pushed.
Focus on the most efficient form.
Hurry up!
We want change. Renewable energy is achievable.
We need to take actions to look after our Earth - a healthy world is needed for the livability and survival of all. We owe it to future generations. Lead us to the future, rather than just the next election.
Make sure the energy companies give people true information. 2. Change the way energy is priced - remove the connection charges.
The unemployed people should be given the chance to work in renewable energy jobs.
Persevere with plans to promote renewable energy. Take notice of the Green’s policies.
Hurry Up!
It’s fair enough to have renewable energy but not the carbon tax particularly if farmers will be charged.
It would be good to have more mainstream media programs like A Current Affair and This Day Tonight giving information about the real cost of installing solar power etc. and what the savings would be. We need more mainstream media information on these issues.
Instead of compensating lower income families with rebates give them the alternative of not paying higher prices if they use energy better - or provide renewable energy appliances to lower income families.
Encourage the implementation of more renewable energy schemes.
Stop procrastinating and get on with it.
It’s best to err on the side of doing something.

We need renewables
Humans are part of the solution. There is always a cost for things we use. What is your true belief?
Make it happen
Clean up your act. Scrap the carbon tax.
Keep energy prices manageable. Carbon tax money should go to renewables
Develop RE industry in Australia instead of importing it. Pull finger out.
Get moving before it is too late.
We are not educated enough about RE. And not given enough options
Government needs to be supported for price on carbon. Abbott needs to stop bad behavior
Look at the big picture and future of our children
Hurry Up. Time or our world is running out.
Take the hard decisions and stop trying to be popular. Australians stand for integrity not spin
Go Green. We need to catch up with Europe
Get with the rest of the world that care and go Green
Do something to make energy cheaper
I have grandchildren + it is imperative that something is done now on this issue
Look at the long term and not just the next election
For future generations we definitely have to have a greater input even if it costs this generation
It’s time to make changes. Start now
Just pay for it. Stop hitting regular people with taxes to cover big companies. RE is the way of the future
More financial help to people to change to RE. Develop better policy to nuclear electricity.
Clean energy is an answer to pollution/environmental issues. Do it. Rebates for consumers.
Ensure there are caps on pricing of energy water and gas.
Must have a clear cut plan to transition to renewables
RE is going to happen. Get on board.
Pull finger out. Develop renewables
RE! Go for it.
Communicate better
Good that this survey will bring RE to your attention
Make RE more affordable
Inform the Government that the community wants action on RE and on pollution
Make RE more affordable
Need to look seriously at RE on large scale
We need to quickly look at RE and to encourage jobs
Would like you to clarify your position on RE
We need a transition& create jobs
Government not supporting renewables sufficiently
Government needs to make sure there are still jobs here
Need a transition phase & encouragement to change to non polluting mode
Need for renewable energy. Everyone will have to pay. Do it sensibly now.
Business wants clear standards and market certainty
I have no idea why the governments can’t see the urgency to become carbon free
RE is our only hope

Make RE more affordable. Make sure it is Government controlled not privatised
RE will sustain our country much better than coal economy
Show me the money
If it is better for the country and the environment then look into it
I would like to see everyone use solar power
As soon as we can RE in, the better
Doing it in Holland and other overseas countries
List to the experts
To achieve the level of fossil fuel replacement needed, we need more than amelioration programs
No new coal fired or nuclear power stations
Renewables will decimate employment
Plenty of talk no action
Lack of visible evidence
Keep pushing RE
Wind and renewables are best
Don’t have large schemes for RE - various - large and small
I wouldn’t like your job
No need for carbon tax
Must be proactive. Take greenhouse seriously & be measured in terms of what is reasonably achievable
Because we live in Latrobe Valley all governments should support significant transition to less carbon economy while supporting jobs
Look forward instead of standing still. Get a plan
Not enough proper info for people to make a judgment
Stand up and invest in RE
Do something
Listen to the science regarding climate change, Take more non political stance
Something has to be done Look at the natural extreme weather
RE forget it Build another coal fired power station
Use our vast supply unproductive land and go for solar
Solar needs encouragement

Do your own research and then make a decision - don’t take the word of the polluters
Make sure systems are safe and affordable
Keep the pressure up to the rest of the world to go with a pollution price to keep Australia viable
Make solar systems affordable for the oldies
Stop fighting amongst your selves and get something done, I believe there should be fines for pollution but not a carbon tax
Its good our MP are listening and finding out what the people think with surveys like this
Make sure there is funds to reskill those in industries we will loose and keep the costs down for big investors
Its common sense to help the environment
There should be rebates for alternatives to solar in renewable energy
Sooner the better X 7
If money is going to go back to renewables then yes to a pollution price
The issues should be discussed, costed and solution examined fully before action
Wishing you will be lead in your deliberations
Money for pollution should go back to renewables x 3
Get on with it x 3, before it’s too late
Its cost effective to do it
Carbon tax is not going to work
Carbon tax is going to impact on low income earners
Make it affordable for low income earners and put money back in to skills for new industries x 2
Reskill people in to renewables
Sort it out!
Keep and honor your word (i.e. act on Climate Change)
Think beyond your 3-year term to 10/50/100/500 years into the future!

Affordable for us all
With all our sunshine, solar is the answer
This issue is very important and I think a lot more needs to be done by our government.
It is essential, inevitable and critical that we change to renewable energy.
Let’s follow Europe and try to be self sufficient in energy.
Renewable is the only way for the future. More money needs to be spent on the future of our energy resources.
Sustainability is an urgent matter. It should be top of the priority list. No more subsidies to fossil fuel companies.
Get on with it!
I have a young son, do something for him.
Think of your grandchildren. Go renewable this decade.

The research says we can do it. The Question is why aren’t we doing it?
Listen to the people
We all vote and we voted you in hoping you could reestablish Australia in leading the world in green technology.
Go for the renewable. You’ve got the mandate.
The science is indisputable. Something needs to be done.
Save energy and generate green energy.
We’re disappointed, Try harder!
Retire.
Act as soon as you can it is a priority to save our planet.
Why aren’t you investing more money in renewable energy?
Move to clean energy.
Invest in renewable now.
Action is urgent.

We need to become self sufficient in power. Not to be owned by foreign companies.
More energy to move towards renewable energy and away from fossil fuels.
Start renewables now.
Get serious about climate change.
Research shows that we can reliably generate all our power from renewable energy sources. The government must make this a priority.
Do it now please.
Quit your job!
Also need to clear weeds and feral pests.
Let’s get cracking on it!
Start moving towards 100% renewables over ten years.
Stop playing ‘Business as usual politics’
Make it more accessible: cheaper!
It can be done. The technology already exists.
Do something, now!

Transition Town - Wonthaggi

We are the earth and the earth is us. Open up your eyes and have some heart and thought for the future.
More needs to be done,
Too lazy,
They are afraid of the opposition,
The action doesn’t fit the problem,
We need to get on top of global warming,
Global warming is a serious problem and needs to be taken seriously,
They need to educate the people where global warming is concerned,
They only make promises but don’t carry them out,
They should not cut back on solar programs,
They don’t seem to understand the seriousness of the problem,
Not doing as much as other countries this is serious,
They can’t understand what causes climate change,
We need clever credible candidates,
Put the money up for renewables now,
We need politicians who are intelligent and visionary,
Wake up and embrace it,
Don’t play up to the Chinese,
This is the most important thing to happen ever and most politicians stand idle,
Get with it!
Make solar units possible for everyone,
Do you really understand the problem,
We are so far behind the problem needs attention,
This is a serious problem which requires close attention and legislation,
Study up and familiarise yourself with the facts,
We are not doing enough to get on top of the problem,
We’re just going on what other countries are doing,
We need more education on climate change in the schools and the electorate,
The scientists warnings should be respected,
We’re not making sufficient advancement in overcoming the problem we have,
We should take everything into account like population increase etc.,
We are not moving quick enough - too pathetic,
They should keep the feed-in tariff at 60 cents and maintain rebates for solar,
Politicians should concern themselves about saving the planet and humanity with clean renewable energy before thinking about who will win the next election,
Have the guts to invest in renewables now and put a price on carbon emissions,
Don’t know yet who candidates will be but of course they should all have it as a priority,
There will be no future for the coming generations if we don’t,
Save the planet and invest in renewables NOW,
Invest in renewables not pollution too much carbon dioxide everywhere is deadly to the planet and to human well being,
Act now invest and encourage renewable energy. Stop supporting coal industries. Create employment with renewable industries,
Government should be enforcing renewables not pricing pollution,
Have some courage,
Have a long term view don’t just look to next election look to the next generation,
Why doesn’t the government explain this properly to us so that we can understand,
Grow some testicles,
They need to communicate better,
Please encourage support for renewable energy,
Stop stuffing around and just do something,
Hope you can get the price of energy down,
The burden on my children and their children will be unjust if we don’t act,
It is very urgent that we institute policies now to implement significant amounts of renewables,

Invest in the future not in the past;

Too expensive/too hard NOT an option (20yr. old);

People thought economies would fall over when we stopped slavery but we survived;
What will we tell our grandchildren;
Why is Australia lagging behind?
Instead of a Building Education Revolution the federal government should have invested in renewable energy;
Get real - the ship is heading towards a reef - turn it around rather than focusing on trivialities;

More action and less talk on renewables!
Have the guts to stand up and do the right thing about renewables. Shut down Hazelwood and have an exit plan for all other coal fired stations. Do not build anymore!! 100% Renewable!
I support candidates to invest in renewables and to combat scare campaigns;
Should NOT BE A POLITICAL ISSUE!
The government needs to invest in renewables-NO not in the next 5-10 years!
Please invest in the future!
It would be better if all the renewable equipment was made in Australia-now it comes in ships;
Follow the science and research that is in our long-term interest! We certainly need to be proactive in the ways we manage our resources for the future;
Government should look at all sources of energy except nuclear. Gas particularly its so cheap and less polluting. For families on a budget a high carbon is hard;
Reduce energy-use recycle;
Take into consideration we need coal and gas to live; Keep costs down;
Think of our future generations;
Value the future of our natural environment;
Carbon tax on companies;
Needs to be more of it (renewable energy) and bigger targets and more education;
Carbon tax on companies that pollute. Invest!
Spend tax money on renewable energy instead of fossil fuels;
In the long run renewable energy will bring prices down -in the long run;
We need renewable energy;
Stop giving so much money away-our priorities are wrong. We should be fixing our own country first. The labor government is too extravagant with money;
Our little country can’t do anything-not with China, India, and USA etc. It’s nature;
Seriously start considering more cost efficient and green energy and consult with the people more;
If you are serious about renewable energy you should give some rebate to people on the ground;
If you are serious about renewable energy give solar rebate to people on and off the grid and also to people who want to own their own power source. Be truthful and frank and open and not hide things from us;
I think the government should be doing something to encourage renewables;
Renewable energy is the way of the future;
We should support it passionately;
Continue with your renewable energy plans that you have at the moment;
Government should be promoting the electric car or reducing price for high octane petrol;
Positive bonuses for companies that take the first step towards renewable energy and not taxes which increase prices;
Make renewable energy more affordable;
If they bring anything in its got to be affordable and then people will use it;
Educate people on renewable energy. People should not pay extra. The government should get local companies to look at what should be done locally for renewable energy. Our Federal member Dan Tehan should provide means where people are encouraged to use renewable energy;
If it’s cheap and can be done, do it;
Stop stuffing around-focus on tomorrow;
Make the whole world natural;
We need to investigate what is really happening out there in terms of climate change;
Forget the focus groups and have the guts to develop a vision and go with it;
Invest in infrastructure;
I’m happy with what’s been done in this electorate (3266);
It’s better than before. The rest of Victoria still needs work (on renewables);
Nuclear should be on the table.
Solar energy on a large scale should be implemented or trialled. Should be a tax on transport;
Show strength of character and do what you believe;
I am frightened by government's apparent lack of direction re Renewable energy. Decisive action needs to be taken;
Invest in renewable energy immediately. Start acting on your promises-if you do get the money spend it on the right things-renewables not on something else! Support your country;
Greater support needed for renewable energy, greater technology and commercialisation.
Surveys should not be so emotionally charged;
Provide real incentives for people doing the right thing.
Be responsible with renewable energy practices;
The time to act is no! There is no other option for the future;
Please think about the future and how you will leave this planet for future generations;
The government should take a strong stand against scare campaigns-but EDUCATE.
In a democracy you have to have the support of the people before investing;
87% of scientists believe in human induced climate change and there is very little time, if any, we have to do something to prevent irreparable damage to the planet. If we want a future for the planet and for our children and grandchildren we have to act now-employ Don Watson to write the simple pithy messages needed to educate the people to understand this!
Education so far has been woeful and left to the often right wing media;
Get cracking on real solutions not controlled by big business. Invest in renewable energy because the future of our planet. ;
I resent having to have a smart meter. I have already paid for an ordinary meter for solar-so I don’t want it anyway;
Renewable energy for our future and this offer a future for our children;
Invest in using as much renewable energy as possible;
Invest in renewable energy-inform now-for all;
Action on this issue takes courage. I’d like the government to continue with their present policy.;
We need solar and geothermal and more research and development but cap wind farms;
Please support renewable energy and have some vision;
The gas power stations I don’t support because too costly and too much CO2. Wind and waves are good-the way to go!
Do what’s best for the country-and not what’s best for politicians;
There’s no reason not to invest in renewables. We’ve got wind and sun and we’re not making the most of them;
We need to make renewable energy more affordable and accessible to the general public;
We have to get it together. Eventually there will have to be a bipartisan agreement but hard to see this happening in the future. We need to go all out to get this;
Get on with it! (renewable energy) but more clear explanation of issues needed so people can understand the issues;
Put more focus on the issue. Not enough focus on environmental issues and positives. Wake up to yourselves. Renewable Energy now;
It’s so serious-get on with it! Bite the bullet and do something about alternative energy. People need certainty!! Bite the bullet- Get on with it!
Show some ticker!
Wish we had more planned development e.g. why are there black roofed garages and south facing houses?
We are protecting the future for our grandchildren by using renewables. Have to pay an investment for future generations. Make the price of power the same for coal.
Take the politics out of this issue. Listen to those who can deliver really good research on this and take party politics out of it! Don't take the voters for granted. Listen to the voters, we pay them. Come up with options and say what you want. Research, research, research.
Show a bit of courage and break our reliance on fossil fuels.  Need to have a good energy-renewable energy. Social sustainability is needed to get my vote. Renewable energy sits with my social welfare principle and the reduction of poverty issues.
Teamwork involving all members of parliament is needed.

Consider the legacy we leave to future generations.
Invest now for a safe future.
Here in The Gap we expect our Member of Parliament to safeguard our livelihood by supporting safe energy program.
It is smart business decision to invest in an alternative power source that is abundant (sun, wind).
Do it!
Other countries are already doing it, why aren’t we?
Don’t be intimidated by business. Respond to the needs of future generations.
You need to explain it better through a clear education process!
Stop mucking about!
Investment in renewable energy is the solution for the long term - Make a decision to leave a legacy that generations will remember, not a decision just to get back into government!
Hurry up - it may be too late!
More renewables.
Could we have more solar energy please?
Don’t be scared!
Be courageous and make the change that’s needed.
If we don’t look after the environment nothing else matters.
Let’s think about out Future
Too much interest in coal and existing industries, not enough support for renewables!
We have nothing to lose from renewable energy.
Please don’t listen to the big polluters scared of job cutting. Clearly the big profits they gain allow them to keep staff on and accept a little less profit.
Think about your children
Let kids have a green future.
Don’t put the mining industry in front of people.
Please support renewable energy research and infrastructure.
This is no time for cowardice: too much is at stake.
Why don’t you do something?
Hurry Up!!
Please use the science as a guide to your policy.

Small business pays so much already to the Government - and they can’t get their act together to invest in renewables. Why are you wasting our taxes?
Coal seam gas is the future.
I’ve seen a lot of renewables overseas. We want it (renewables) but need more information.
It needs to be an approach that is consistent with a global approach - We need visionary leadership.
There’s so much talk and not enough action. We’re not spending enough on research and development on renewables. Too much is spent on mining research. Please think about the generations after us - we’re not doing it now.
We have enough room in Australia for renewables. We spend Ridiculous amounts of money on non-essentials.
Make it clear in the media how you stand on renewable energy, and what you are doing.
Fossil fuels are finite and costs will rise, so it would be better to invest now.
Charge big business for pollution and put the profits into renewables. Carbon pollution is affecting future generations and the environment. Stop destroying the earth pointlessly. This is not that expensive.
The Commonwealth government should provide incentives for state governments to run programs to increase the uptake of renewable energy. Just do it - Do it now!
Government likes the money - they see Australia as an open quarry. Act now!
Renewable energy is the way of the future and you should get on with supporting it.
We’ve got the country and the space. Renewables should be compulsory and affordable. Keep plugging for renewables.
Make it a priority now. Deal with it with now, without political rubbish. Just get it done.
Get Coles and Woolworths on board. Make mining companies responsible.
Stop putting character assassination ads on TV every time there’s an election.
Mining has so much revenue - they are not interested in people. We don’t need ethanol- it ruins rubber pipes.
Do something constructive and put the money back into the community.
Stop the pollution for future generations.
Stay strong! Have moral conviction.
Increase the taxes and get on with it. Do what you have to do.
You are just not doing what you should do. We have plenty of land to put in solar panels and wind farms, e.g. look at Windorah. Give us more solar energy subsidies and don’t cut our subsidies on the 30th of June.
To Jane Prentice: Change your leader, change your focus, go in the opposite direction - stop supporting big business.
For solar and geothermal power companies to be better, the government needs to put more money towards their development. Rebates need to be permanent.
Get on with it - don’t cost us too much!
It’s do-able, the Government has the power to change and set regulations - they need to use that power;
Action has to happen but we need to take care of the people at the end of the line;

Look into it a bit more, do some more research yourselves. It might cost more money initially but it will cost less to the environment;
Be proactive. Develop holistic, comprehensive plans to deal with renewable energies;
Keep working on renewable energy projects. My power and gas bills have quartered because of solar hot water;
Wake up! Let’s follow the Europeans.
Get on with the job;
Do whatever you can, this is really important;
We need to have a long term plan - it’s an important change;
Think globally, act locally, one planet - peace now;
This is an extremely important issue and all levels of government should be doing more;
Think of the future, our children need us to invest in a long term clean future;
Every party should be pushing for renewable energy;
Invest in clean energy;
Need to get the facts out there and have the debate;
Tell Tony Abbott to understand the science;
We need you to be supportive of local renewable power initiatives.
Educate the public more. Keep up the eco-friendly initiatives.
The changeover must be carefully managed re training workforce first, then taxing big business.
Start doing something.
Please make sure that there is balanced education available to all the population. Research carefully wind energy as I have concerns about it. Go for solar and thermal.
You need to develop a middle of the road approach to solving the climate change problem and that is how you will make progress.
Stop dragging your feet; we need to move to renewable energy as soon as possible.
Have a win-win by creating jobs. It does not need more spending.
Australia has great resources for renewable energy; it will be good for the future generation to support these initiatives.
Progress scientific research and train more students in the field of solar energy.
Put the information to the public.
More planning is needed for the future.
Continue to fight to develop renewable energies.
I am very concerned at the lobbying power of the fossil fuel industry and our subsidies to them. The perceived short-term financial gains are far outweighed by the destruction of natural amenity, biodiversity and social disruption in the future.
We must make these decisions now for the sake of our descendants.
It’s really urgent that we put money into renewable energy: we have the perfect climate to do it. We need to become resilient.
There’s so much interest in living more sustainably but on our own it isn't enough. We need an energy revolution, independent of political parties.
We live in a capsule. We shouldn’t pollute it. Science must be the basis of change.
Expedite the use of renewable energy and stop the raping and devastation of the earth.
See the bigger picture and provide better circumstances for our children to grow up in.
We have to have a balanced debate. We need a balanced portfolio of energy generation so renewables need to be part of it.
Take notice of what other countries are doing. Sweden is thriving and they have had a carbon price of $100 a ton for years. Take notice of what BZE is saying. BZE is showing the theory and some wonderful examples happening here, e.g. the Hepburn community wind farm. The Labor party should take advantage of these great examples of what is possible.
You need to promote more healthy debate in the area. Really take it to the people - the facts!
To Tony Abbott: I wish you would offer some solutions rather than just throwing up resistance and criticism.
The Liberals should take note and support renewable energy - rather than just opposing for the sake of opposing. Stop denying the science.
Comment For Tony Abbott: Stop the fear campaign. Reduce the hyperbole. Cut the crap.
The sooner we invest in clean technologies the better.
It’s urgent that we take action now to back renewable energy.
Try and push through bills to favour renewable energy.

Climate denial is killing us. Take action now.
I have a child. I can only respect politicians who aren’t selling and consuming and wasting her future.
We must pay for the pollution we are causing. We have to go renewables. We must tackle climate change.
NO new coal-fired power stations should be built as proposed in QLD. Governments are notorious for waiting till after a catastrophe. That mentality cannot work for this one. We are going to wipe out the human race by failure to respond to the climate crisis.
Think about 20 years in the future - when both oil and coal are running out. No to nuclear.
My eleven grandchildren and their futures are at risk.
Look at renewable energy more seriously.
Support solar.
Create green jobs. Environment and employment work together.
Stop playing politics. I want to see a fact-driven debate.
Think local, act local.
It’s getting to be too late! Just start- gets moving.
Get behind the research and move towards renewable energy.
Keep the solar panel rebate going and increase it, as people are saving to install solar panels.
Do something now while you have the chance and you have the research telling you, before it is too late.
Stop lying and tell the truth.
Do something about it.
Spend more on research into renewables.
We need to think beyond the next three years.
Get stuck into it. Quickly!
See the bigger picture and provide better circumstances for our children to grow up in.
Try and push through bills to favour renewable energy.
We’ve got the technology and let’s do the smart thing!
Get some clear messages out and have marketing plan to win the hearts and minds to the facts.
The sooner we start pulling our fingers out the better.
Fuel sources can be from different sources than fossil energy.
Sustainability is forever. The government is not interested in what comes after their term is finished.
Stop talking, take action, and then make any necessary changes on the way.
Action must be taken to educate and overcome misinformation. We shouldn’t be linking 'politicking' to basic needs. Do the right thing and stop playing politics.

Invest in and support through incentives renewable energy technologies; to date there has been too much focus on funding shovel-ready projects, which really only aim to make sub-optimal schemes less troublesome; we need fundamental breakthroughs in alternative energy sources, and soon; getting them will probably require a large, collaborative effort focused on theoretical science; changing our approach to research in this way might seem more difficult than using what we already have, but, as with our natural resources, we are running out of options.
Stop supporting the oil/gas/mining industry a lot more than renewable energy sources, which is our only sustainable option into the future.
Wake up and be true leaders

Proserpine

Advertise what’s available and encourage people more to take on renewables
More assistance and information should be available to those who would like to go down the renewable energies path.
Invest in renewables but look after the economy.
I’d need to be more certain of my facts before putting pen to paper but would like to say in a general manner that I’m in favour of renewable energy and that we should be making steps towards introducing it as the preferred option.
I would defiantly mention that I’m not happy about how the government is spending it’s money and they should be investing in renewable energy.
for once take charge and don’t be a lap dog that everyone likes give the people something.
I have been waiting for 12 months to have the energy saving team visit my house and assess my energy needs - not good enough. The cost of solar electricity is too high. The labour government has poorly managed our resources.
I feel I don’t have a voice or say in the matter, I feel like the government is controlled by those big polluting companies, they have huge power over the government all because of money, it kind of makes you feel like there is no point in saying something. I do my own things in my own home to make things greener; and i only buy ethanol petrol too, because its the cheapest I can afford and its better for the environment and makes me feel less guilty for using my car.
If you spent a fraction of the money you spend on coal infrastructure on developing renewables, Australia could have ANOTHER booming industry and MORE regional jobs!!
Keep at it. I believe big businesses do need to pay some sort of tax if they are responsible for pollution, small businesses within reason as well. Converting to renewable energy would ideally be the best option for Australia. Some people don’t welcome change. I on the other hand think something needs to be done. Take ethanol fuel for example.. there was a lot of negativity towards introducing it onto our roads. Now I can’t imagine living without it. Its just as convenient. Works all the same & is cheaper than unleaded.
We need to work at keeping Australia beautiful and by investing in renewable energy we will not only be helping the environment but will help keep our bills down too
Follow the lead of European countries in regards to renewables. Don’t blame rising electricity prices of renewables when it is in fact aging infrastructure that is driving the price skywards.
Can’t you see the Earth is not happy. We need to do something now before it’s too late.
Invest in clean energy. Otherwise we’ll only be a rich country for as long as the coal and gas lasts.
Create a NEIS new enterprise incentive scheme for research development and production of Hydrogen cars, solar, wind, tidal and geothermal power
If it keeps going up our family will have to move out of Qld everything just keeps going up and power bills shouldn’t be a big concern.
Get it right!
Fossil fuels and abusing the environment may seem like a better way to keep votes and save money in the short term, but if you take into account the costs of damage on the environment, sustainable energy is a far better alternative. This is particularly salient in the Whitsundays where the natural beauty of the environment is the main attraction for tourists from all over the world. For instance, if shale oil mining in the wetlands is allowed, it will be a serious detriment not only to the health of the immediate vicinity, but also the Barrier Reef and thus will end up costing us not only in terms of irreplaceable natural attractions, but also in terms of bad publicity and ultimately voters support for any party that supports unnecessary ravaging of our region.
Pull their heads in and get on with the job you are there to do...
Stop trailing other nations, start researching; solutions - we have the technology, just get on with it!
Stop the political crap and do it!
Stop supporting the coal and oil industry.
You have to lead the change.
Get your act together.
Renewable energy action is required NOW.
Do it!
Have some vision.
Do all the above plus put government money to better use. E.g. Stop spending our money on fancy street signs!
For God’s sake, think of your grandchildren
Government is sending confused messages on green issues. We need clear message and easy to understand language and explanations of their plans.
Please help with clean energy. It will make life in Australia better and our way of living last longer.
TAKE RENEWABLES SERIOUSLY! Invest in things of value even if it is not politically advantageous. Discern between fact and fiction.
Time to expand Australia’s horizons and the people’s too. That which we do not have we can never appreciate.
We have a responsibility to protect the world for our children & future generation’s We need to be proactive in creating much needed change & thinking laterally in terms of job creation, not just accepting the status quo that Australia is a giant quarry.
Work for us, the people who paid for the industries to start with and are now paying for the profits for privateers who bought the industries we paid for originally. Look after the workers; no one apart from themselves/ourselves seems to care.
People would be more supportive of clean energy if you could show there will be good stable jobs in the industry.
That we need to look to alternatives and to take in effective the damage to the environment. Australia Should be a leader in renewable energy irrelevant of what other countries are doing.
Stand up for your beliefs and articulate to the whole community - persuasively. Abbott has a spin-doctor who thrives on short catchy phrases that say not much, all negative, and have distinct subliminal messages that try to sow seeds of doubt and concern. You need to make a difference and the Carbon Tax group need to be able to ‘sell’ their beliefs etc and convince the community much better than the are doing at the moment. Stand up to your convictions. Stop letting Abbott railroad the debate.
Do some research on solar and wind energy before investing into the mining industry, which is slowly defragmenting our society values in many ways. 1. families - Fathers are away too much, this affects the upbringing of children, if the marriage lasts 2. money earned - smaller companies cannot pay the same wages as the mines.
Let’s look to the future of our nation, plan wisely & check out alternatives.
Even the playing field - help renewables as much as you help fossil fuels.
Solar & wind, way of the future.
No smart meters
Invest in green energies
If you want people to use renewable energy, make it easy for them, and a viable economic option.
Just get on with it. Australia won’t be a healthy wealthy rich nation for too much longer if we don’t switch to something sustainable while we can still afford to switch.

Tasmania

Climate Action Hobart

If Australia shifts to 100% renewable electricity we can show leadership for action on climate change and ensure a safe climate future.
End subsidies to the coal industry!
Give a commitment to researching clean energy option, broadcast the findings and make the switch.
We need to shift away from fossil fuels to renewable energy.
One reason why government support for renewable energy starts and stops is because they want to grab the carbon tax- be firmer in your stand against polluting organisations.
Encourage low interest loans for solar- make it affordable.
I’m happy to pay extra money for a price on carbon to support renewable energy.
Think about the future!
Tasmania has a perfect natural resource- we should be completely powered by renewable energy.
Something they need to take a long-term look at, not just short term goals-plan well!
Better public transport and bike paths and carbon tax- more reliant on power.
The majority of Australians are aware we need an alternative.
Please act on this matter with urgency- need quicker changes.
I would like to see more promotion of renewable energy- if not enough; the government needs to make some changes.
The government needs to address an alternative energy for transport now and use gas for base load power- the term renewable energy is too restrictive and doesn’t allow for the use of gas.
We need to move to renewable energy, as it will be cheaper power- stop polluting the planet.
Cut energy usage and 2 this is urgent- don’t delay- switch to renewable energy.
Re-assess values on energy use, get priority right, and protect our planet.
Be strong in your endeavors to implement policy for the uptake of renewable energy.
I would like the government to respond more to the need for renewable energy.
Having to pay for service fee for water if it goes past- the technology exists, it’s not that hard.
If wind and solar are so accessible, the government should start doing more for renewable energy.
This issue is too important to ignore- show political courage to make the right decision.
I would like to see subsidies to make renewable energy affordable, practical and attractive for low-income earners/ people on welfare.
Stand up to the fossil fuel lobby groups.
I would like a greater government commitment to renewable energy.
Go nuclear.
Invest more in renewable energy such as wind and solar (biomass and clean coal are not renewable).
Think of the future.
Make sure you get your facts straight.
Action now- stop talking.
Inter-generational equity.
Lower the cost of energy.
Get on with it.
Give us more information.
Educate us- make us part of the solution!
We should be leading. Bring on the carbon price.
Do something!
Take action.
Think long term.
This is the critical issue affecting my vote.
Renewable energy should be looked at more and thought out- something to do over time.
Need a statesman to make decisions- even if they are not popular- people can see that these decisions are for the future.
Tell the truth and stick by it.
What’s wrong with you if you don’t see the crisis that needs to be fixed?
I urge the government to implement a rebate system.
If it’s going to save the planet for our kids, we need to pursue it.
No nuclear.
Invest in incentives and educate people to do it themselves.
Invest in the future and make some hard decisions in order for the investment to go forward.
Invest in the future to leave a healthy planet for future generations.
You need to think about our kids’ future.
Be fair.
We can’t burn fossil fuels forever- it may not make a huge impact on our lifetime but will impact upon our children.
The government should bring renewable energy forward- it will be cheaper and pollution is a big problem.
With the exception of hydro and wind, petroleum based energy will end and run out- we have known this for a long time now- it’s time to change to renewable energy.
The government should spend more money on renewable energy, so it’s more efficient- take action for renewable energy.
No carbon tax.
Wake up!
We need to lead the region because China and India are the biggest polluters and we contribute to their pollution.
Think of our future, we only have one planet- dare to care.
It’s too urgent to delay- act ASAP for the sake of our children.
We need to act now.
Get real.
Show some leadership and do what’s right.
Support action for managing our environment.
We need government support for research and development and providing real incentives and policy for renewable energy.
There is a lot of talk but not enough ideas and plans implemented.
The key to our energy future is multiple small solutions rather than risky big style solutions like nuclear.
Investigate various options.
Definitely need carbon tax.
Inform yourself and take it seriously.
We need more rebates for renewable energy.
The time frame we are working on is too slow.
Climate change should be a priority- do something.
Do something other than being pressured into giving subsidies to the coal industry.
Stop with misinformation- act intelligently.
Government support for renewable energy is too slow.
The government could do better to support renewable energy.
Look after our planet.
Get with the program!
No planet= no us.
Invest in a healthy future.
Global warming is a global issue and will not go away.
Time to stand up and do something- we need strong action on climate change.
More and more Australians are supporting action to lessen climate change.
Externalities need to be better built into the economy.
Future generations will pay for it and the current generation needs to share the burden.
We need to think about the future of the planet.
People think renewable energy and climate action is important.
Fossil fuels are finite and renewables are not.
Wake up.
I enjoy nature- littering makes me sad.
I understand that politics is often about the here and now but governments should also be concerned about our future- short term pain for long term gain, guys seriously, how can you not agree?
Renewable energy is economically and environmentally the best option. Do something now!
Less talk- more action.
Renewable energy is the only way forward.
It’s economically, politically and environmentally the best option.
We can always do more to be sustainable.
Go green because you might not have to deal with the consequences but my generation does and we want a clean, safe world.
Our world is suffering from our actions but we can change this- it’s not too late.
Carbon price now, please.
Open mindedness equals sustainability. Investment in renewable energy now will save not only money in the long term but the planet and the people.
Act now, before it’s too late.
Convert to 100% renewable energy- for the people, for the world, we cannot afford not too.
We should have a lot more renewable energy working. Go solar.
More rebates and incentives for renewable energy is needed.
Pull your finger out.
Do better.
Stop talking.
Invest in renewable energy now!
Get a job.
Look outside Australia, think outside the square
Emission reduction targets should be stronger- equality, don’t make households pay for industry pollution.
Think forward to future generations.
Tax the corporations more and use the money to invest in renewable energy ASAP.
Stop subsidising fossil fuels.
Tax coal, uranium, fossil fuels and give the revenue to renewable energy- you should listen to our concerns- ministers need experience first.
Hurry up, stop talking- we need action for renewable energy.
Get on with the job of acting on climate change.
Things should be explained simply- none of us want to pay more taxes.
Most Australians are confused about the carbon price- it is obvious that a price on pollution needs to be done.
It’s really important to make renewable energy part of the climate change solution.
Try to be environmentally friendly- where possible.
Try your best to support renewable energy.
There needs to be certainty for renewable energy investment.
Everyone needs to take responsibility- people and government.
Renewable energy is a long term solution, do something, change people, higher taxes possibly.
There’s still a lot to do, get on with it!!!
Get real, it’s pretty simple, we need wind and solar- not coal energy.
Do the right thing as far as possible.
There needs to be more money for renewable energy projects- love our garden and do the right thing!
The critical agenda is over population- all the jobs and industry created to make these systems makes pollution- the more people who switch to these renewable energies are also creating pollution- address population!
Climate change exists and must be responded to.
Governments should act responsibly with regard to climate change.
Grow some balls and get on with it- stop bowing down to industrial pressure.
Take climate change seriously.
You should prioritise this issue.
Don’t be short sighted- think of the future.
Wake up and do something about this issue.
Listen to your own scientists.
Be cautious about making life too expensive for little people in the process of change.
Get your act together, don’t put money first- it is taking too long to implement the carbon tax.
Stop trying to win votes and do what you are supposed to be doing- get results!
Make the technology affordable.
Make climate action a priority- renew subsidies for renewable energy.
Profits of a carbon tax should go to research in renewable energy- take a stand and make it happen!
Tax big polluters; use the profits of the tax to fund research for renewable energy, make substantial change and jobs and investment will come.
Work together, stop infighting policies because climate change is real.
Things need to be heading towards being functional in the long term.
For the future of our planet, renewable energy is exactly where our focus should be- focus on the longer term.
I would prefer to see renewable energy than taxes that affect ordinary people.
More efforts should be made by the government to issue renewable energy to households- politicians need to be more honest-
I don’t believe in climate change but I do agree with reducing emissions.
We have the chance to be a world leader in clean energy.
There are not enough positives happening for renewable energy.
We need to find a balance between clean energy and supporting Australia’s resources.
The alternatives to coal should be subsidised. We need solar rebates.
I haven’t seen enough evidence that the government is doing enough for renewable energy.
Tasmania has a cleaner use of natural gasses, the mainland should learn from Tasmania’s resources.
Please invest in renewable energy sources- the planet can’t keep producing fossil fuels.
Please consider future generations and our planet in your decision making.
Timber companies have too much influence on politicians and there is too much emphasis on coal.
There is too much emphasis on existing energy sources and not enough research being done into renewables.
Unfortunately the energy companies and large corporations are not interested in renewable energy, so the government should be.
Please encourage renewables more, as our children’s future depends on us taking this issue seriously.
Whatever you do will cost, however you should encourage better building standards.
There should be a feed in tariff.
Need to communicate our responsibility to protect future generations.
It is very difficult to do renewable energy in Hobart- more information would help.
It is essential to have renewables.
The problem is too big and small incentives are too small (e.g. cycle ways).
You are not doing enough- wake up to yourselves!
Offer more rebates for renewable energy.
Set the example for non-polluting activities.
It’s still a valid concern despite the economic climate.
If we don’t use renewable energy we are going to go backwards and run out.
Bite the bullet- invest in renewable energy now with large scale solar power in rural areas instead of coal sequestration.
There are too many cars.
Do more thinking and research- I support wind and solar, not nuclear.
Pollution is far more than just a price- we need cultural changes to the way we live- more effort is needed into day-to-day things and education.
Stop talking money and fix the climate with more renewables such as wind and solar.
I am anti-nuclear.
Consumers should be allowed to choose products that have low C02 and get incentives/ rebates for renewable energy.
The government’s proposed carbon tax will waste money.
Think about your great, great grandchildren; think about the planet- not about votes.
We shouldn’t be using fossil fuels when there are renewable technologies out there.
Go nuclear.
Bring back solar rebates to cope with the increase in cost.
Go nuclear.
Big and small business is important- listen to the people.
Don’t avoid this issue.
Please have courage to stand up for the planet and future generations.
Money buys power and influence. Invest and provide incentives to the polluting companies (those with vast experience and expertise in energy production and distribution) to develop renewable energies alongside their existing energy production methods, so that at some point, the polluters can transfer their efforts 100% into the renewables.
By the way and we are the energy users and the polluters too!
If Tasmania as a state can’t establish enough renewable energy sources to meet our needs (and potentially enough for export) - then which state or territory or country can?
This aim could be a core platform of a central business unit within the Department of Economic Development and let’s establish Tasmania as a world leader in renewable energy technologies, infrastructure and power generation.
Immediate action on climate change or get out of government!
A carbon tax is essential for Australia to transition to a clean energy future.
We need to eliminate oil and coal dependency and and help create a sustainable ethos.
It will take years or even decades to make the major infrastructure changes needed - we must act now before we are forced to. It is HIGH time to get moving on this issue.
We need REAL action REAL quick.
The fact of the matter is we need to bite the bullet now and deal with the difficulties that might arise, because if we don’t, then our children and our children’s children will be taking that bullet for us and and that’s simply NOT right.
More rebates, please.
We need a local rebate scheme.
Please support renewables

Wake up - oil is going to run out in the near future;
Think of your children & grandchildren and what they’ll think of you;
The world can’t afford to keep doing what it’s doing - we’ll run out of non-renewable sources. ;
Support Renewable Energy;
Nowhere near enough solar for our sunshine - look at it from economic point of view;
Forget coal energy & jobs & concentrate on renewables;
Get rid of Abbott & get opposition leader who believes climate change is real;
Take note of this survey and implement it;
Give renewables a chance!
Research into thorium energy;
HP, BP & EOA are old hat thinkers re environment - government should do all they can to back renewable energy;
Support the carbon tax;
They need to do something about it;
Invest in projects like enviro-emission greenhouse solar turbine, using local resources to create affordable energy;
Embrace renewable energy;
No policy in social housing, only on government buildings;
Listen and have a plan to counter doubts on renewables. Urgently.
Keep down this track, base action on good scientific evidence and community need;
Want to see investment in renewable energy;
Need decision to move forward. Little things we do now will make big difference in the future;
Change is inevitable - cannot live the way we lived before. Make change for all living things.
No Price on Our Future, Our Country. Renewable Energy all the way. Don’t sit down or else you’ll pay!
Focus on safety and clean energy not $$;
Convince the population - Invest in tidal/wave in narrow channels (Backstairs Passage, Pumicestone Passage);
Look at our planet, what we can do to make small changes now to look after our planet;
Concentrate on essential social & environmental issues not just political hype;
Green not Brown;
We have sun & wind - go for it. Think of the future and what we will be leaving our children’s children;
Let’s not always lag behind European Union, e.g. large scale solar in Spain;
Do something about it, spend so much - do it wisely;
Someone’s go to make the move;
Get some spine;
Go Renewable;
No idea - get a real job;
Probably not enough information on what’s happening;
Rebates to low income households, force business to get organised; Don’t hear much;
It’s all a great mess at the moment; We need strong environmental leaders;
Look at more advanced societies - Portugal has leading energy policies;
Keep jobs in Australia;
Start merging renewable in now - transition;
Ridiculous to say RE expensive, will save $$ in long term;
Put a price on carbon and let the market sort it out;
Government needs to be pro-active - you can’t eat money
Learn from other countries making RE work;
Have a vision - need to move to renewables;
What legacy do we want to leave?
Show some courage, leadership & visionary initiative;
There is public support for RE;
RE is absolute priority for us all;
Start to do something about the environment;
Need a transition strategy, as fast as possible;
Legislate that all new building must be renewable, provide incentives so low income people can invest;
Look at international examples - & fund double glazing for insulation!;
Sunniest country - ridiculous not to be using it. Look at the future, long term planning needed.;
If raise taxes, have to raise wages & pension;
Every opportunity to increase RE - look to the future, no future in polluting energy resources;
Continue R&D all aspects of all RE technologies, increasing sustainable energy will become cost effective;
Nice if they gave enough $$ to install solar;
Stop squabbling and playing politics with the future;
Increase wind, invest in waves - put panels on for low income households;
The future is with renewable energy;
Look to new resources &
Sustainable inventions - Don’t get bogged in the past;
Direct planning & investment into RE incl. Australian manufacturing;
Not sure;
Renewable the way to go;
Find alternatives first;
Always room for improvement;
They’re trying;
Politicians are not genuine about sustainability, just a political football; Invest in RE for the future;
Invest in Australian R&D an give incentives for action;
Education, get communities onside;
Listen to broad community views, have common sense approach, make it happen;
Act now rather than suffer later, when it is too late to act;
Democracy if private industry dictates best outcomes? Australian initiatives poorly researched - look at Finland since 1998;
Use RE because it is there - develop a transition plan local to national level;
Don’t act out of fear;
Hold our nerve, don’t deny climate change, invest in RE despite skeptics & the opposition;
Need $ for more R&D;
Can’t compromise science, need to secure a safe climate for young people;
Look ahead;
Wake up and listen;
Stop mining & exporting coal, become self sufficient;
Evidence based action - seriously assess situation cf be swayed by interest groups;
Lead from the front;
Look more at opportunities;
Get on with it - don’t worry;
Be confident;
Seriously look at reducing carbon pollution;
Phase in the polluter pays principle &
Use to fund transition;
Needs cross industry policy with minimum benchmarks to adhere to;
Be brave - think about the future not yourselves;
Invest in schemes like German incentives and improve building efficiency codes;
Not enough incentives for individuals;
Do things that help all walks of life; Invest in renewables, properly, with supervision
Australian labour; keep solar rebates and feed in tariffs as they are;
Provide everyone with solar panels (currently unaffordable);
More financial assistance for transition to renewables at home and in business/farming;
Improve renewable energy services &
Reduce costs;
Get with it - do it fast, bipartisan support - for our children’s future!
Persevere, reduce carbon pollution; no carbon tax but do move to 100% renewable;
Long term vision with short term milestones that all can understand;
Create level playing field, stop subsidizing fossil fuel industries;
Pull your finger out!
I’m going to vote green;
You need to explain to everyday person - educate people about it all; more incentives to people installing solar panels &
Tax polluters;
Be practical;
Keep up subsidies;
Keep subsidies for solar;
So much Australian potential for wind and solar;
It’s a no-brainer, the more $$ on renewables the better;
Continue solar subsidies;
Find a new way of disposing of pollution from fossil fuels;
Climate change is real - we need action;
Stop stuffing around & get onto it;
Our future is more important than money - so many options;
More subsidies for renewables like solar instead of investing in oil, coal and nuclear

New South Wales

100% Renewable New England, Armidale

Get on with it! We’ve farced around for too long!
I can’t believe it’s not happening already!
Stop tearing up the ground for coal and do something else. They’re eating up our agricultural ground! Don’t exempt the big companies from the pollution price and don’t charge households. I support wind and solar
Stop research funding to coal sequestration and install solar instead!
They’ve got to invest in renewable energy for us to survive as a people. Australia should lead the way in renewables or there won’t be a world.
I bought panels for my last home under the rebate. Now I’ve moved and I want to put panels on again but I can’t afford it. I want to see government support for people like me who want to do the right thing
Be a leader. Let’s be a leading region, like with the NBN.
The sooner we start it the sooner it will pay off
Electricity prices are born of monopolies, self-interest and inappropriate use by consumers. Don’t listen to the electricity generators.
Look to the future
Carbon sequestration doesn’t work! Invest $850 million in real solutions like solar.
Germany is decommissioning its nuclear power plants. Listen to them! No to nuclear and yes to renewables!
The government needs to support households to live more simply
As a pensioner costs are important but we are prepared to pay a little more because we believe its something we need to do.
Do what you can and keep the pressure on.
Use your current leverage as part of the MPCCC to force the government to commit more money to renewable energy investment, implementation and research. This is a good chance
We really need to be working with our free and renewable source; the sun. We need to acknowledge the toxicity and cost of digging up coal. Stop exporting our nation’s wealth. Be a leader; go for it! I support you!
Country Energy should be paying the rebate, not the government
We need intellectual argument not game playing.
Stop funding the pipe dream of carbon sequestration research.
Fund solar research and PV installation
Support people to invest in solar energy (and the rebate). Carbon tax is no good because people will vote with their hip pocket.
Join a party and stop standing at the sidelines.
They need to take notice and listen to the voters
Invest in renewables.
Tony Windsor was an idiot for following Julia Gillard.
Keep moving.
Be bold in your thinking. Future generations will judge you.
Taxation could be used more efficiently, for example all alternative energy sources should be tax-free.
Every new home should have solar panels on the roof.
Put lots of pressure on them to get it happening.
Tony is doing more than the rest of parliament put together
Make a realistic plan and stick to it
Get a move on. Commit
Be more of a hippie
Develop renewables
Get on with it
I am in favour of a gradual approach
Run a positive campaign
I’m not happy with the carbon tax; the compensation needs more detail
Tidal power should be used because we are a coastal nation
We need to negotiate more environmentally friendly outcomes. I think 100% renewables is an unrealistic goal and will unhelpfully polarise the debate
We are a young couple with three children. Our mains gas has just been turned off and we can’t afford solar even though we want to. The council won’t let us unblock the fireplaces to use our fires so we will have to heat with electricity
I support sustainable energy in our community. Bring back solar incentives. It’s crazy not to
It is more about reducing emissions than taxing people, and I am against nuclear
There needs to be more community based energy, more consultation and regional solutions. There have been too many cut backs on solar incentives so create alternatives
Will exclusions cover all costs?
I’d like to see a commitment and action. It is acknowledged that renewable energy is the way to go, but we need legislation and action from the government
Don’t cut policies and leave people jobless, and stop listening to conservatives that try to inhibit policy ideas
Support Australian workers and train people to do it. Support solar rebates expansion and listen to the people
We need consistent policy, not like the solar rebate. It needs commitment to be successful. Invest in renewable energy at a local level (local councils are the main process to be encouraged) and consult with the people
The government talks about pollution but there is no mention of aircraft. You must know what you’re doing and give us straight answers
Look at energy efficient technology and clean sources. Wake up to yourselves and stop being for financially and politically motivated
The income from the carbon tax should go on renewable energy. I would like to see Australia adopt a 100% renewable energy target by 2020 now
Australia can start; somebody’s got to. Introduce a system where electricity companies supply solar panels to each customer (which are owned by them). Rebate on electricity and local production as it is less than the national grid. Rent roof space for solar
Develop a transition plan from our dependence on coal exports for GDP. We need a long term plan
Money isn’t the answer. Let Armidale be an example renewable energy town
This is all 50 years too late. Wake up and get with the program
Start listening to the people who care about the future for our children.
Don’t block the carbon price legislation
We are past the time to get on with it. Science shows that climate change is real so stop bowing to the pressures of big business
It makes good sense, and the sooner the better. We should lead not lag
We need legislation to move to renewables.
Stop wasting time and get on with it.
I don’t believe we need a carbon tax and will vote accordingly.
Please don’t forget what it is all about; being able to function in the future
Do the right thing. Use your conscience.
Give it your greatest energy and endeavor to see that alternative energy sources are investigated and pursued.
Respond with information and invest in renewable energy. Misinformation cannot be let go. Take immediate steps to avoid the brain drain. We need leadership and communication. Promote the real benefits and costs to put out arguments; the returns on investment are high in the long term.
Governments need to make it more financially attractive for households to have personal solar panels, possibly based on independent assessment.
Tony Windsor: Don’t give up the fight, and thank you. Mr Torbay: Develop a genuine smile
We need to stop pouring money into digging up coal rather than seeking a long-term solution.
If they were taxing the polluters and pouring the money back into renewables who could object to that? Even my old man wants solar panels on his roof.
I looked into renewables because we had to switch over from gas, but it wasn’t clear which one to use so I gave up halfway through the process. People need help to access information
Do more
I would like solar for my house but it is too expensive.
We also need to look at wave and tide, and also apply penalties for wood smoke pollution.
Put more effort into research
Renewables should be made accessible to us all.
Politicians must make a stand to follow the science no matter what the political cost.
Honor the contract for solar, encourage local action and our Earth is precious
Do something! It’s only going to get worse.
It’s going to happen anyway so make it happen quicker!
Try and keep the incentives and the rebates.
Proceed gradually and slowly
I made a grave error in supporting Julia Gillard.
Investigate and follow up.

Bathurst Community Climate Action Network

Cut out costs out - we shouldn’t have to pay for it. Why is electricity cost going up when nothing else is
Come back from overseas junket - stop taking kickback & make Australia a better place.
All for renewable energy but we have to be able to afford it. Backtracking - giving less is the wrong message.
Explain properly why we need a carbon tax!
Make better television commercials in support of renewable energy.
I would really like to know what is going on in the environmental sector - I don’t feel I get enough information.
Stop bowing to entrenched interests and develop coherent policy for a carbon neutral economy based on renewable energy.
Not enough money for renewable energy shouldn’t put it in to clean coal.
We need to support an infant industry with billion dollar potential.
Don’t let politics stand in the way of best interests of Australian people.
Don’t be influenced by past experience and the amount of money involved.
Educate the skeptics!
Start Listening!
Need action, make it affordable, take it seriously, and use other successful examples.
Think about the future now, renewable is the way to go.
Green energy will be the winners as energy costs rise. If not you aren’t helping your constituents.
Get Serious!
Want something done, renewable energy needs to be a priority.
Work together.
Show support for renewable energy.
Make sure initiatives don’t make us vulnerable.
Encourage sustainable energy 2. Address food security.
Put renewables in place - companies should pay. If the Government allowing pollutants, people shouldn’t be paying the price..
Think about the future. I’m worried about nuclear power!.
Mr Cobb - You have to stop looking at the short term - look to the long term.
Bring the costs of renewable infrastructure down.
Time to act is now!.
Return solar rebate to a sustainable level.
We need certainty with tariffs.
Remove disincentives to pensioners - exempt income from renewable energy.
I support the Federal Government’s carbon tax, Australia should diverting energy sources to as much renewable as possible..
Be clearer about policies and make them as simple to understand as possible - simple facts.
Don’t take notice of Tony Abbott’.
We need more energy in the system to reduce costs.
Don’t penalise those already reducing emissions. Licensing for electricians too hard - won’t have enough technicians.
Do what it takes to get renewable energy in place.
Move quickly!.
Stop advertising start acting - we need cheap start up costs. Should build wind farms and invest.
Need combination of energy sources. Need to invest in more efficient technologies and make them accessible.
Urgent need for low carbon economy.
Do you have any renewable energy at home?.
Don’t think about party politics, don’t think about economic, think about the environment and the rest of the world - those without power..
Lots of people interested in taking on renewables at a local level if subsidy available.
Listen to the community about using renewable energy.
Priority should be to fund renewable energy as technology is there.
When new building is erected, owner is not asked about solar, it should be mandatory for new buildings.
I’m very concerned and we should be encouraged towards renewables as a community. Also concerned about water..
Take politics out of renewable energy.
Good Luck.
People with power own coal mines and are hard to beat.
Recognise you are out of step with the community.
We need more renewable energy.
Take a principled look.
Become better informed!.
Stop playing politics - its too important for our future.
Get behind the scientific consensus.
Have a lot more discussion not sudden decision that way is disgusting.
Less talk more action.
Difficult! when we are trying to be green and still support dirty energy.
Don’t tax everyday people.
Carbon tax forces businesses to cut labour costs.
More focus and more energy on achieving green power.
You gonna follow through?.
It has to be the future needs individuals to commit.
We need people to reduce, reuse, reduction of energy use is essential
Bring down power prices
Don’t be ruled by the media. Fear tactics. Consider the future, respect the science - change cost of renewable energy
Make renewable energy cheaper.
Be tougher on pollution, lots of polluting cars for example - support solar users
Solar is too fragile, we need a Snowy Mountains scheme something big, oceans are there forever.
Make ethical decision rather than purely financial.
Stop arguing - get on with it.
Electricity prices shouldn’t go up for householders. Look wider...think about where to locate renewable energy away from population centers.
It’s a global movement - carbon tax imports too.

Byrrill Creek Climate Action Group

Stop Australia being governed by mining corporations. Let us be able to hold our head high with other countries. Australia’s environmental record is shameful. No jobs on a dead planet!
Please hurry for it will be too late
100% renewable energy immediately.

Not moving quickly enough
Put in enough political will and resources
We need to plan for Australia and the globe’s future by investing and developing renewable energy and moving away from a dependence on finite natural resources
Please support a price on pollution for the 100% renewable energy future. A clever move for Australia.

Climate Change Australia - Hastings Branch

Be brave, deal with the short-term voter anger for the long term good
We have lost our leading edge in world renewables and that needs to be reversed. Be courageous. Invest now into a cheaper economic and ethical cost than later. What ever we do will cost
There is no doubt: we must switch to renewable energy and we must make polluters pay
Do it now! It is a benefit in so many ways
Please listen to the results of this survey and take it seriously as a strong community voice, support research and investment into clean renewable energy
We need a government web site to update us on what’s happening and a community suggestion box so that the people can contribute ideas
Get a grip on how quickly this needs to be done and think outside the square
Take a more positive approach & realize this is where we need to go
Renewable Energy and help create jobs locally
Be trailblazers. Be brave. Harness the energy and the enthusiasm of the youth
The Government should develop a plan to move to 100% renewable energy as a matter of urgency
Carbon credits for old growth forest
Ask the children
We should use solar panels and stuff
We need this planet to last for as long as possible
Saves on carbon emissions. Get in and act now
Fossil fuels running out. Also favour nuclear. Australia’s best interest. Strategy to be non-political
No pollution. Natural

Keep up the good work
Healthier living and more affordable. Do the right thing by all people living in this great country
Better for the planet. Should be cheaper & cleaner for the future. Pull the finger out and listen to the people of Oz
Better for health. Better for environment. Better for life. We have such a beautiful country and we a slowly ruining it. Time to do something to help don’t you think
Better way of living to create a better future and a better life. Our country has many ways to be green, time to invest and research
Pollution is not good
Do more
Put a price on carbon
Do what is best for community
Market to decide
If it’s not broke
Do what’s right
Have a go
More jobs for young people
Do more
Work for people
Legislate
Go hard for change
Australia must take a leadership role in combating Climate Change. Renewable energy is the solution to ever increasing fossil fuel energy costs. The technology is available now - we only need the will to act. This is the moral and ethical challenge of our generation. Do not give in to short term, ill-informed, self-interest groups - act now for a clean future and a stable climate for our children
Take an overall view, intergeneration’s
Should look into renewables
It’s not the cost and its sustainability
Try to look longer term with open minds
I would like you to support a carbon price
I would like both local members to push renewable energy whenever they have the chance
Nothing happens anyway and no matter what you say
Put solar panels & solar hot water on all of the Government buildings ‘Start in own backyard’. Turn off the lights in the car park in the untenanted building next to the State MP / Netball Courts ay Grant Street Port Macquarie
Push harder, larger companies need to lead change
Please hurry up and get solar energy
Wake up smell the roses and look at what’s happening to the world, soon there won’t be any
Not worth sending a message. Politicians too inconsistent
Have the guts to stand up to polluters
Do what surveys suggest and make it cheaper
Listen to the people
Pollution is shocking
Think of future generations
Keep going down the road of renewable energy for future generations and
Get off your arse and do something about it
New houses must have solar
No, hopeless, just want to get more money. Greens are ridiculous
Not too much needed in Port Macquarie. Concerned about prices
Stand firm against big polluting companies and legislate companies to refit to renewable energy
The public want renewable energy
You can’t please everyone and lots of stakeholders with personal interests will obviously try to keep the status quo going as long as possible to delay change-ignore selfish interests for long term vision to benefit generations
Take brave and altruistic decisions on addressing climate change that will benefit the community in the long run with stable energy supply & prices, jobs & less climate catastrophes!
I am 13 year old and getting climate change anxiety as I can see how much my parents do at home for sustainability but see little done by others in community (friend’s families, businesses, government.)
There is no longer time to make a choice on this issue, we must move to renewable energy now so that we don’t let our kids down
Australia has abundant solar energy to create an enviable solar industry. It is a disgrace that we are lagging so far behind countries with less natural resources
I think people don’t understand a lot about clean and renewable energy. If they understood how carbon tax would benefit them and families in the long run they’d be more open to the idea
Think long term for our grandchildren
This is a complex issue but greater investment in cleaner energy now will pay dividends in multiple ways in the future
No carbon tax unless there is a global commitment, Australia should not carry this burden on its own.
Do it
Government policy on supply chain for energy should be renewable focused. This is where the change will come. To win/supply any Government level must use renewable or pay a penalty price. Provide industry with generous R&D incentives. No one has been able to explain what happens to the tax after we achieve 100% renewable energy. Sample tax $100 collected, $50 to administer/monitor/pursue, $30 rebates, $20 maybe back into development of renewables. Stupid idea to create a new tax, coal producers will eventually move to renewables anyway because the raw supply is limited. Already reached peak oil so they are already pursuing alternatives
We should be leaders in renewable energy not inactive, for other countries to take the lead
Wait too long and Australians will pay the price including future generations
Subsidise the renewable energy market to ensure a sustainable future
Rebates should provide incentive

Get facts right and educate community honestly
Public education. Not make the issue about politics.
Pull your head out of your arse!
Making money seems to be more important than environment. Better footpaths/bike paths for walking/prams.
Should do something with serious consideration and prioritisation
Conservative person all of life. Increasingly concerned about lack of action.
Need to be more serious and proceed into renewable energy sources at a government. level
No carbon tax
They should make power generation cleaner
Please take is seriously, educate yourself and campaign
Government. should give incentives to completely reform pollution
Just do it!
Try a little harder
Listen to the people
Need to invest in renewables urgently
Do it now before it’s too expensive

Forget about price on carbon
Try harder, tidal and geothermal
Stop investing in non renewable
Slowly bring in renewables
We have to and we all have to
Give it a go and regional
Invest more in renewables, solar and wind
Stand up for the environment and this is what we want
Should have happened
Make it affordable
Solar, increased usage, support, makes it affordable.
Some support for industries to change
Chief scientists should be independent. Think of future generations. Government does not care. Look after the little fellas.
Should do more. Good for the future
Look at the big picture, not just big companies
Assist local people to manage energy use, and install renewables

Orange Climate Action Now

I ask that Mr. Cobb and the coalition abandon politically tactical moves and embrace the national interest.
This is that global warming is caused by pollution largely emissions by human agencies, and this is a peer received ands accepted scientific fact.
Regardless of politics this fact should be addressed immediately to avoid catastrophic financial and human cost in the future.
Focus should be on renewable energy not climate change which will happen whatever we do with co2. Tax incentives are good but direct action type projects not for reducing co2 won’t save the world. We need to encourage kids to study science and engineering and develop an entrepreneurial approach to dealing with the problem of introducing renewable energy. The negative type approaches of taxes on pollution directly and explicitly penalise consumers.
The federal government should stop subsidizing dirty sources of power, such as coal.
Have a vision for our grandchildren and act on it.
People always support what is cheap and affordable. If that happens to be solar or whatever -nuclear has lots of problems.
Public policy to encourage the population to consider choices of living and not to be a disposable society.
How about some action on sustainable energy.
More efficient sustainable energy makes economic sense and Australia should at least take the lead in something.
Stop worrying about the big picture and do some thing at a level that can be managed.
Consider what has been said and the wishes of the community.
Give support to introduce more renewable energy.
Stand up for renewable energy.
Get on with it.
Do everything you can to make sure it gets ahead.
The short term loss of jobs is nothing compared to the medium or long term effects of climate change -please think and plan for more than one political term
Consider the wishes of the community.
Australia should be a world leader in renewable energy. Instead we lag behind the rest of the world. I think we need incentives that encourage private industry to come up with clever solutions. I would like to see every house energy and water self sufficient, but am cynical in that I believe government and large energy providers do not want that to happen. We need a strong government to have this as one of their aims.
Keep rebates going for solar panels.
Think of the future
Get out there and do a good job
Listen to what people are saying.
The Government should put solar panels on public buildings
The government should put more into research
Open negotiations on renewable energy. You are representing us . Make sure negotiations continue.
Support a national feed-in tariff.
More research needed.
Nuclear energy is something we need to look at.
We have the resources. Why not use them?
Don’t oppose good initiatives.
We must move to renewable energy. Delay could cost us more.
Do more to promote renewable energy.
Push hard for renewable energy.
We should be using wind energy more.
Australia could be self-sufficient wit renewables.
You are out of touch. Stop deluding yourself about environmental issues. Stop looking for excuses and take action.
We need to move to lower polluting sources. The coalition needs to get an acceptable alternative energy policy.
Do something.
The government should be doing all they can to support renewables.
Get cracking on renewable energy.
Nowadays the majority of the population knows we have to look after our environment and our planet.
There is confusion about who are the experts.
Stop thinking about renewable energy. Start deploying renewable energy.
Please do more research on renewable energy.
Don’t reduce the solar scheme. Give more money to it , and a green power scheme for all new developments.
Promote the benefits of renewable energy.
Offer more incentives to people to change over and put on a carbon tax.
Coal mining destroys underground water resources. Water is Australia’s biggest problem.
Take these issues seriously. Our children’s futures are at stake.
Stop procrastinating. Get on with it.
Take the opportunity to represent the feelings of the people on this issue.
Make more people aware of renewable energy.
Don’t implement a carbon tax. It would hurt the economy.
Strong support for nuclear energy and renewables.
I support a price on carbon via a carbon tax.
Do the best you can for renewables.
This must be the most pressing problem of our time.

The Government needs to acknowledge its responsibility to the Australian people to do everything in its power to bring about strong positive change to our countries carbon emissions. Zero emissions should be our aim and highly urgent should be our time frame regardless of its effect, positive or negative on our economy.
Directly fund renewable and no more coal burning power plants.
THE YOUTH OF KYOGLE SAY NO TO COAL SEAM GAS MINING & YES TO RENEWABLE ENERGY.
YES we have to get serious about global warming. We only have 10 years to act before significant species loss might occur.
Why do they keep chopping, changing on renewable for households? 11.
Think of our children and grandchildren 8.
Don’t touch nuclear 3.
Make water tanks compulsory.

We need an ETS.
Hefty fines for polluters, money to go to renewable energy.
Hold corporations accountable for earth’s destruction that’s your job.
How much longer are we going to serve the interests of big business instead of a clean future?
Make it a more open think tank and Australian democracy doesn’t talk to each other.
Give us our rights, not the multinational companies 2.
We are giving our resources away and we should be leaders in the world 4.
Investigate tessla energy.
Solar/hydro not coal we have the best position to use solar in Australia 6.
Media should be taken to task on how they deliver the truth.
Not enough priority given to renewable and not all initiatives followed through, more solar power and more rebates with incentive and encouragement 4.
Not looking after the planet 5.
Get your shit together, get real 2.
The government is compromised and is looking after mining interests 4.
Everyone should be made responsible in some small way then it would be taken care of 3

Lismore Climate Action Group and Nimbin Environment Centre

Get off your arses, stop being frightened and do it! I am angry that you are selling my children’s future out!
You should be moving money from fossil fuels to renewables and no nuclear!
Support renewable energy!
Do more to support renewable energy before it is too late and
It is a wise investment!
Make renewable energy affordable for households.
For a lasting legacy we should go for renewables.
Economy is not the bottom line and nature is!
Just do it!
It’s worth spending extra money on renewable energy and
It’s better than losing our planet!
I’d like to see more renewable energy and
It is cheaper in the long term and creates more jobs.
Less feel good, larger and more viable renewable energy projects.
Be more consistent with renewable energy policies.
Encourage R&D and keep ideas in Australian business.
Get onto it!
Stop avoiding the issue.
Bring back incentives.
Get your act together. We need to sacrifice GDP for the sake of the future.
Create consistent policies.
Better educate the yourselves and the public about renewable energy.
Think about the future.
Look at Germany and
Think rationally about the real future, not just financial short term.
Look to a better energy solution. Don’t give in to big corporations.
Government seems in thrall to mining conglomerates. Funding corporate pollution is no future.
Stand up to the coal and oil companies and support renewable energy.
Worth their while to invest and could make a profit!
Don’t kill the earth! Invest in the future for a clean and healthy environment.;
More genuine investment in renewable energy.
Wake up and see the solar light.
Time is short. Renewable energy will create permanent, long term jobs and a world for the current range of inhabitants.
Let’s create a better world and stop polluting!
Get your finger out and you are way behind! Let’s make renewable energy work!
If we don’t embrace renewable energy, there won’t be any energy in the future.
More support for renewables.
I’m horrified at your lack of responsibility to future generations and this planet. Shame on you!

Cut out old technology and in with the new and it will create more jobs,
Time is running out. No future on a toxic planet.
The benefits of renewable energy are obvious. Implement it now.
Stop supporting the coal industry and invest in renewables now and before it is too late!
Try Harder!
No reason why it can’t be done.
Renewable energy makes sense. It is logical.
Bite the bullet and do it because the cost of doing nothing is higher.

Mittagong & Bowral

The page has turned - to clean energy

Transition Byron Shire

Australia wants renewables
Our country has unlimited sun - it’s crazy that we don’t use more solar;
Time to act and lead us towards a sustainable future;
All talk and no action by our governments reduces faith in the democratic system. We elected you to represent us and work for us the people. 100% renewables now please;
Push for strategic plan for implementing a variety of technologies to lead to a renewable energy economy by 2030;
Put money into the grid rather than individual households;
Don’t give false promises nor band aid measures;
People want to do something but they are pushed aside. Politicians should back the people;
Need a just transition away from fossil fuels to 100% renewable economy regardless of climate change;
Ridiculous that with our environment that is not more solar. Re-skill and redirect;
Come up with a strategy and plan, goals and targets for action on renewables;
Time is of the essence - act now;
Start now;
Don’t be afraid to make hard decisions because postponing makes it harder;
Sorting it out must be a priority regardless of popularity. Can’t put it off;
Move it along, now!
Do the right thing for future of country as opposed to pressure from intimidating big business;
Put forward options as viable opportunities to take up renewables - give a clear path;
Don’t be feeble - stand up, speak out, do what’s right;
Delaying renewables costs Australia more, world economics are passing us by, we are not keeping up;
Politicians are behind the public. They’re not listening to voters, big business is holding sway;
Every incentive to subsidise renewables and to include industry, award companies for improved energy output;
If we don’t act our children’s children will suffer extra hardship. Overlooked by right wing policies on seriousness of issue;
Believe the climate scientists and not the polluters and act accordingly;
Pensioners should be given solar panels, not set top boxes;
Listen to the people;
Encourage individual uptake as well as implement carbon tax on big polluters;
What about our children?
Make good laws and enforce them properly;
If you have children you have a real reason to act;
Please use renewable energy for my grandchildren’s grandchildren;
Pull your finger out;
Why are we going along using same amount of power have to make things so expensive so we stop using them;
Renewable energy is the most important issue; this is a no brainer. We should use renewables. I don’t understand why we aren’t already using them, except for the fact of government and mining greed;
Please reinstate the solar panel rebates;
This is the most imp issue of our time- we need to act urgently;
Fix public transport;
Renewable energy asap;
Start working on it immediately;
Think of your grandkids - we live in a society - not an economy;
Act now!
Fines are the answer - not a tax!

TTT+, Bermagui

Plan for the future - get off oil and coal go solar and wind
Just do it now
The political response has been timid and dishonest. For all our sakes stand up and be counted (loudly)
After 20 -30 years of increasingly committed science our political system has not produced a coherent effective response
Adopt the BZE plan now
Take the plunge - go wholeheartedly into renewables and find a way to sell a really positive message to the community. We should be world leaders in renewable energy i.e. sun & wind. What are we waiting for?
Lead don’t follow show some real commitment to the future.
Get moving - lead!!
If Spain and other European countries can produce so much renewable energy, why can’t we?
Get on with it!
Get on with it!
Stop pussy footing about
Provide leadership now and ignore shock jocks
Act now
Be bold and imaginative
Please be visionaries and create a safe clean environment for future generations
We have abundant resources for sun, wind and wave energy generation, why aren’t we harnessing these resources
Please create opportunities for big business to develop sustainable energy - make it mandatory for every house and business to collect water, to have solar hot water and electricity collection
The cost of delay will be greater than the cost of immediate action
Listen to the grass roots
Why is Australia lagging so far behind Germany, Spain etc
It is time to do something
Lets do something, make a start. The cost of remediation will increase the longer the problem is ignored
If we don’t change our ways voluntarily we will be forced to do so by escalating climate change and peak oil.
Forests store carbon, stop logging native forests - we have enough plantation timber for all our domestic use.
Australia’s and the world’s future depend on strong action on climate change - Please show some leadership
We are behind Europe and most other developed nations
Those who are adopting technologies should have greater credits given.
Because so much of our knowhow etc goes off shore there is not yet a commitment to embracing clean energy
Reducing financial incentives does not encourage or enable people to go green. Large-scale wind and solar on a level to replace coal must have government support.
Only tinkering at edges, still oil / coal emphasis
Look about.
Not a lot is happening on a national scale
There should be more action on climate change including the cessation of logging in native forests
I don’t see, hear about or read about government leading the development of clean energy initiatives - a tax is a different thing
Not enough simple messages, more incentives needed, instability of rebates.
Would like to see more R & D in areas like wave and geothermal
There is nothing wrong with rising energy prices - it is the best and quickest way to get people to value energy from any source.
Forests for bio energy? NO NO NO
Australia’s carbon emissions are still too high to prevent dangerous / rising levels of global warming.
Dumb question - push polling
There is inertia in getting programs going and influence of coal lobbyists
There are trade offs that have not been addressed
Scratching for $s, lack of investment, inefficient and uncompleted programs
Invest in renewable energy for all Australians, cheaper for voters, better for the environment, everyone wins.
Do it now it is too important to wait
Cutting the tariff retrospectively shows no regard for the renewable energy industry
NSW does not have any interest in Renewable Energy
Look at Germany & use sun and wind. CO2 is too high already at 393ppm
The take-up of solar pv in the Bega Valley demonstrates the huge community support for renewable energy and programs that support it
Make Australia a leader not a laggard in renewable energy for our children’s sake.
Separate yourselves from the coal lobby,
Why is there so little support for renewable energy?
There is too much support for polluting industries and too little to Alternatives
I have seen what can be done in Europe why do we lag behind
There is too much talk and too little action
It makes economic and environmental sense to move to truly renewable energy
The future of the planet is more important than politics
The political agenda is too complex
Continue to promote clean energy and make it available to all
Stop protecting the coal industry
Take note of community opinion
We are trying to improve our world and control climate change at a local level. Don’t ignore us, don’t try to discourage this effort.
We could be a showcase for renewable energy in the Bega Valley. Support people to support clean energy - its our future - lets help it to live and survive not kill it.
Support clean energy do it now it is too important to wait
Invest in clean energy - take a long term view
I want a clean energy future NOW
Someone has to start taking this issue seriously
Why does the government keep moving the goal posts?
Wind and solar technology is being used successfully in Europe why can’t it be used in Australia?

Tweed Climate Action Now

You’ll get my vote if your proactive about this
Look at the issue from an economic stand point and the climate results will take care of themselves
Have the political guts to do the right thing on credible science. Inform the public properly and get on with it.
Majority of the people want renewable energy. You should back the people
Stand up to the scare campaign. Invest in renewables please
I vote tax carbon. I will pay tax
Get people to understand we live in a finite world
Please initiate BEYOND ZERO EMISSIONS strategy
The time is NOW. We need to move on this. We need strong leadership
Need to fund renewables now. This will provide more jobs e.g. Germany

West Lake Macquarie

While coal has given us our bread and butter, time to change - future generations will benefit - see other avenues we should take them
Private companies should invest / 100% not possible; consider the global context; don’t like carbon tax - not a level playing field; will disadvantage Australian industry; need more geo thermal
Scientific evidence beyond doubt; vigorous efforts are needed to reduce pollution
Listen to community-wake up! We’ve got to do more; penalties for polluters not high enough;
Create more incentives for transition to low carbon economy especially at the household level
Only if bigger polluting countries implement also
Initial costs could be higher for electricity
Social welfare concerns - need support for lower income families
Need to take responsibility for environment
Please consult with peoples
Show leadership on this issue
Should be building power stations
Not happy with greens
Catch up with the rest of the world, don’t lag behind
Get rid of the greens they are over the top
Stay with its
Use storm water
Create mini hydro
Need to drought proof use snowy across ranges
Do more
But should reduce pollution
More thought needed into workable policies
Go nuclear
Only introduce policies that are viable - no nuclear
Need a better plan!
Need more hydro / have doubts about wind power / slight on the environment
Make it easier on low income earners
Pursue 100%, terrific solar resource and crosswinds on the coast
Wake up
Yes to carbon tax if global / for coal fired / silly to close before renewables are ready
Boost invest and strong policy to support promote RE
Carbon tax great in theory but will need to carefully monitor economic impact / distributed energy & FIT tariff for all renewables
We are watching you
Even though a struggle needs to be done now - start now
Doing a great door - I appreciated it when you knocked on my door - that was a first
Electricity is too expensive and low income people need to be protected and supported
If we want to have a future in this country we need to act now
Be more proactive / need financial incentive
Policy needs more clarity on carbon pricing
Got the country for it but control investment / manage it
Pay more attention to Renewable energy

NOT HAPPY about more taxes by government to fund & help; should be PAID BY THE POLLUTERS,
Keep energy costs down in Australia. People are struggling,
Keep trying, we need new ways to run the world, and a healthy way to live,
Stand up and be counted for the future and not the ballot box,
Let’s get cleaner and at least more informed,
Invest and explore in local possibilities and promote renewable energies,
Companies should not overshadow the government,
Take responsibility,
We all should take responsibility!
Please for the sake of our future please implement change,
Its about the future of our children and grandchildren,
The current situation doesn’t seem sustainable and time for new options to be explored and used,
Get serious about renewable energy!

Do more research into what’s been done in other countries so we can learn more,
Stop pandering to the vested interest of cartels,

Clean Energy For Eternity

We need to show leadership, now, and to act quickly to invest in renewables before it is too late.
The progressive movement to clean, renewable energy is a necessity for the future of our planet.
No matter what your views are on climate change, renewable energy will benefit our planet regardless.
Stop sitting on your hands, think of the world’s future.
It’s time to get tough on polluters especially those that are exploiting Australia’s resources.
Wait till you have a viable sustainable energy industry financed via investment incentives and tax breaks and then start taxing non-sustainable energy sources.
It is important to act before it is too late. The younger generation is all for renewables and have an expectation that leaders will make decisions for the future.
A price on pollution will discourage use of polluting energy and encourage clean energy creation. People will come to appreciate in little ways the satisfaction of living more cleanly, simply and sustainably.

Climate Action Newtown

I’m confused. Can you make clear what is involved with the carbon tax?
Important to get some actions and plans in place and finance them. Establish government authority over coal. It’s required!
Close down all coalmines and we can move to energy that is sustainable. Won’t do so much damage by stopping dirty energy.
Don’t put the cost on us. You don’t care about the people.
Need to make a better and more consistent case
More needs to be done
Need to act now because we are running out of time
More investment - get off fossil fuels - should have got it decades ago
Everybody needs to do their bit even more so big companies. The government needs to start implementing change before it’s too late
Action needs to be taken but not to punish the everyday Australia. Need to act wisely.
Go ahead with implementing renewables
More common sense. More forward thinking. No point having our heads in the sand. Can do far better and far faster.
Don’t you have children? Don’t you think about being responsible for them? People will look down on you in years to come. They’ll be incredibly pissed off. Change is always hard. We’re smart enough and wealthy enough to make a stand.
Resist the opposition. Stick to good policy and people will follow. Don’t listen to short-term naysayers.
Good luck.
Get real.
Look after planet.
Doesn’t make sense to subsidize fossil fuel. Invest in renewable.
Fight for renewables.
I would love to see more investment in green energy.
At least investigate the 100% renewables option for a long-term vision.
People need to be made aware that simple changes can have a big impact.
Invest more time researching renewable energy.
Both sides of argument need careful consideration. Don’t make hasty decisions.
Opportunity to use renewable energy, not exploited to full extent. (?) More for this.
Get out and put some sensible people in power.
Go for it. 100% renewable.
Please listen to the people.
Plan. Slow is better than nothing.
Hard, big companies cost them money.
Cost some money in the short term, long-term benefit government should weigh.
Move to nuclear power.
Future of world depends on change.
