Dear NSW wind supporter,
Last week I wrote and said that the big solar xmas card would be our final activity for the year, but we've just had important news come in that means I am writing again with one more urgent request.
The NSW cabinet will meet on Monday and the new wind guidelines will be put before them. We
don't know the exact details of what's in the guidelines but do know that right now there is a big stoush in cabinet with anti-winders pushing hard for a full moratorium on wind, and the more measured ministers fighting back saying we need more reasonable guidelines.
We urgently need to help strengthen the arm of those ministers who know wind needs a future in NSW.
By making a quick call to one of the key decision makers right now, we can make sure they stand strong against the anti-wind fear campaign.

The future of wind in NSW really does hang in the balance but if we can flood electorate offices with calls and emails today before cabinet meets on Monday, we can hopefully tip things winds way.

I understand the NSW government will soon introduce new wind planning guidelines in NSW. I support the introduction of such guidelines to ensure a fair and transparent planning processes around the development of wind in NSW.
However, it is also critical these guidelines support a strong future for wind in NSW because:
- NSW stands to gain $10.4 billion of new investment from wind power in coming years.
- Wind power creates new jobs and economic opportunity for regional NSW
- Investing in wind power helps to manage rising power prices.
- Wind will play an important role in meeting the NSW government's election commitment to a 20% renewable energy target
- Community opinion polls consistently show high levels of community support for wind. For most people in NSW, renewable energy just makes sense.
