About the campaign

Feed-in tariffs have been the single most effective policy at boosting investment in renewable energy around the world. They have led to the creation of millions of new jobs, billions of dollars of new investment - and the installation of heaps of new renewable energy projects.

Unfortunately, they are probably also one of the worst named policies around - as anyone whose tried to talk to people on the street about this policy will have found.

Last Sunday I attended the 100% Renewables Campaign training workshop in Brisbane.

Though the day was wet and rainy, travelling out to Sandgate provided a great chance to meet with others working in SE QLD and realise the benefits of doing something positive with a bunch of other active and passionate people.

Yesterday Steve, Harry and Graeme from Climate Change Australia in Port Macquarie, headed off for a meeting with their local member and federal government king maker Rob Oakeshott. In their hand they had a letter signed by 60 community groups from across regional and rural Australia.

When they joined with Labor to form Government, the three Independents and Greens MP Adam Bandt all declared their support for renewable energy - now it's time for our new Government to act

The Government's new Expert Panel on Climate Change  is talking about carbon pricing - an effective stick to make polluters accountable and send an economic signal to the market to stop investing in polluting technologies.
